Heating fixed hair extensions is a plus because it keeps the heat off of the Body Wave Weave 613 full lace wig, thus minimizing damage. However, heating fixed hair extensions can cause damage to the hair extensions if not heated with caution. Proper maintenance for the Loose Deep Wave 40 inch wigs extensions must be done before heating to preserve the extension's appearance and longevity.1. Wash fixed hair extensions with shampoo thoroughly to remove oils, dirt and bacteria that can keep the 613 hair color from taking to any heat and styling. Comb the extensions with a wide-tooth comb when wet to detangle before blow drying.

  1. When conditioning human hair extensions, let conditioner set for 15 to 30 minutes under a heated dryer to allow oils to penetrate your natural hair.
  2. When dry, part the Brazilian Hair in sections. Brush hair with a Denman brush before applying any heat.
  3. Part the hair extensions off into sections. Parting the hair can make it easier to curl or straighten every strand without missing any sections.
  4. Do not heat synthetic fixed hair extensions because they are resistant to heat.Use caution when blow-drying and curling fixed hair extensions. Burning the extensions can cause permanent damage. If hair extensions are burned, they will need to be replaced.

It is a great idea to alternate heat-styling days to give your extensions a rest. Letting your extensions dry naturally is a great summer time look and will allow your hair to last that much longer! Remember, your hair extensions are much more sensitive than your natural hair and treating them with extreme care will allow you to enjoy them for a longer period of time.

Keep in mind that constant styling with a heating tool isn’t too healthy for your natural hair, either, let alone your hair extensions. If you can give them a break from the blow dryer, the curling iron, and the straightener, your hair will thank you for it by lasting longer.

We just wanted to give you a couple tips on using those heating tools. You probably are aware of them, but the following is the "proper way" to apply heat when it comes to your extensions...well, your natural hair too.Just because there’s a high setting on that tool doesn’t mean you need to go that high.

The best thing to do when choosing a setting for your hair is to pick a lower setting and do a test strand. If you feel it’s not curling or straightening the way it’s supposed to, then adjust the heat by increasing it in small amounts to where you feel it is the appropriate temperature.
