Rapidly Changing Work Culture Across The Globe
Posted: Sep 03, 2021
There has been a drastic shift in the workplace culture across the globe. Many areas in the workplace are rapidly evolving for the better. The office design is changing and how! This is in terms of the office culture, architectural vision, brand lineage, client management, employee satisfaction etc. It is worth noting that many of these changes are directly related to how fulfilling the office environment is, on paper and in terms of the real experience. The newer generations demand a more fulfilling approach to working as they spend the better half of their day at work. And reputed brands are more than willing to accommodate and champion this line of thought by incorporating meaningful changes.
There are many stereotypes in offices that are breaking the glass ceiling and welcoming progressive viewpoints. One of these specific changes is in context to female employees. Companies are eager to have women-centric workshops related to career advice, maternity leaves, financial management as well as sessions on workplace harassment to bring awareness to employees of all sexual identities. This is directly challenging the old ways to break free and help the workforce feel more in sync with themselves and their peers.
Another area that is changing is the theory of the workplace. The concept of a holistic workplace is getting implemented, in terms of the architecture, the designing of the workstations, and especially in the case of inclusivity with extra-curricular activities, mental health collectives etc. Corporates want to offer a more wholesome work environment to each of their employees, where they learn, nurture, grow, and flourish in every way possible.
Companies are also focusing on multiplying productivity by focusing on a more collaborative space. This is why the approach of "boss and subordinate" is changing in an impressive way. This has also proved that for employee loyalty, a healthier and long-term interaction is required in an active collaborative space.
The fact of the matter has been wonderfully summarised by Simon Sinek, British/American author and motivational speaker, "If you hire people just because they can do a job, they’ll work for your money. But if you hire people who believe what you believe, they’ll work for you with blood and sweat and tears."
