Moroccan style dresses like kaftans and djellaba are a huge hit among modern women across the globe.

Morocco is a beautiful country and is located in Africa’s extreme north-western part in the middle of the vast Sahara desert. The climate of this region is very hot. This country experiences Mediterranean climate that is extreme on entering the interior parts. Overall, the climate of Morocco can be termed to be humid that differs sharply from one region to the other. Some places especially those facing towards the great Sahara desert are dry. Here, summer lasts quite long.

Civilization & Culture

They have rather influenced how the people lead their life, beliefs, way of thinking, mannerism, food, clothing, etc. The Arab ethnic groups dominate the current population. Hence, clothing style opted by the people here are mostly Arabic in nature. But still, you can find that they have their own custom and style that can be noticed in their clothing patterns. Clothing

Traditional clothing used by both women and men of all ages are referred to as djellaba. This long loose outfit has a hood and long sleeves. A red cap is usually worn on special occasions known locally as ‘fez’. Ornament embroidered kaftans are a hot favorite among women. The djellaba comes fitted with a hood something that is not present in the kaftan dress.

Djellabas

Women just love this decorative dress filled with rich and vibrant coloured ornaments and beads. Usually, they are of bright colour and quite to look at. On the other hand, men also wear kaftans or djellaba, but of plain colour, appearing quite simple. Although women’s moroccan fashion dresses are a bit more expensive, they just love to wear this traditional apparel.

Kaftans are usually handmade. Hence each unit can be termed to be unique in design. It is also considered to be the favorite national dress worn by women of all ages. It is very much on the shopping list at least once a year to be worn during any religious festival or for wedding occasions.

The kaftans are generally made from silk or cotton to keep the wearer comfortable, cool and cosy in the hot dry climate. You can easily come across premium and budgeted options to choose from.

Although Muslim culture dominates the region, this country can be termed to be a progressing country. Moroccan style dresses like the kaftan are rather worn by women with great pride and without violating the Islamic culture. It also does not expose any body part, thus allowing girls and women to go out in style and be praised by everyone around.
