Dock cleats come in a variety of styles, sizes and colors and are made of stainless steel, bronze or galvanized metal. They are the most common and secure method of securing your boat to the dock or marina. There are many different types to choose from, and depending on the situation, you may prefer one or the other. You may also have a preference for the way the cleat is attached to your dock.

The five most common types are listed below:

Galvanized Steel Dock Cleats

These are by far the most popular dock cleats, made from galvanized steel. They are a very cost effective solution for your docks as they protect from the elements and are durable. They come with two holes for mounting with bolts and are easy to install. They come in a variety of sizes, with the most common ranging from 4" to 12".

Folding Aluminum Dock Cleats

Folding dock cleats are made from solid marine grade aluminum that has been powder coated white or burnished in a special process to give a traditional metallic finish. Folding dock cleats are durable and corrosion resistant. Folding dock cleats are ideal for applications where dock safety is a concern or where there is a lot of foot traffic. The mounting holes are countersunk so that the bolts cannot collide with the attached lines. Just flip the cleat up when you are using it, and fold it into the apartment base when you do not need it. They are mostly available in 6" and 8" sizes.

Dock Cleats for Angled Aluminum Rails

The angled aluminum rail dock cleats are designed for use with aluminum framed docks. The angled cleat fits most OEM rails with aluminum extrusions and slides in easily. The angle provides a secure hold.

Classic Dock Cleats

Classic dock cleats are distinctive and extremely functional. They are available for every need. To last, the housing is made of solid aluminum and powder coated.

Aluminum Dock Cleats with Solar Lights

The solar dock cleats are both visually appealing and functional, with strong solar charging power and mooring strength. They are wide and have a sturdy base as they are cast from an aluminum alloy body. Super bright LEDs provide up to 12 hours of side and bottom illumination on a single charge. Visibility ranges of up to 325 feet. The solar panels are waterproof and are made of epoxy. At dusk, the lights turn on automatically.
