Blue Eyed German Shepherd Husky Mix

Posted: Oct 08, 2021
Blue eyed German Shepherd husky mix are considered rare because their coat colors are not common in the breeds used to make them.
A blue-eyed Siberian Husky is an often sought after prize, but a white origination with either light or dark pigmentation is highly desirable in both the Siberian Husky and the Alaskan Malamute.
However, inbreeding in dogs can produce genetic faults that affect health and this greatly concerns all responsible breeders of purebred dogs.
However, when two different breeds are mixed it can produce a very interesting color combination.
The Siberian Husky was chosen for its beautiful blue eyes while the German Shepherd adds intelligence and reliability along with their rare blue eye color. The German Shepherd by itself does not have this color option though it is available in the Miniature German Shepherd.
The Alaskan Malamute has a blue eye but only when bred to another dog with the same gene.
These dogs are not considered common because of their scarcity, but they can be worth more than regular colors depending on market conditions and breeding practices.
Here is an example of three different breed together to produce one Blue Eyed German Shepherd Husky Mix:
- Siberian Husky
- German Shepherd
- Alaskan Malamute
*There are many designer mixes that can come out looking like this so please do not take these photos as representative of all blue eyed huskies.
Siberian husky were originally used by the Chukchi people of North-Eastern Asia to pull sleds for many miles, they are also known to be excellent companions.
Malamutes were originally used by the Mahlemuit people to pull sleds, but because of their greater size, these dogs were often used for polar bear hunting. German Shepherds are often seen in police work and are well loved as family pets.
