  • Employees should be able to do their tasks more efficiently and effectively with the support of technology, not the other way around. However, according to a new study, technology is actually doing the latter. According to Udemy's 2018 Workplace Distraction Report, technology and connectivity issues were the most common workplace distractions and productivity-suckers for 33% of employees polled.

    Ascertain that your team members have access to effective project management and collaboration tools, as well as the resources to learn and use such technologies. Asking whether technology is a productivity stumbling block for your team is a simple approach to find out.

  • Meetings are useful for communication, but they've also become big productivity stumbling blocks for firms all around the world.

    It might be difficult to strike a balance between ineffective meetings and ensuring that the team collaborates and connects. To obtain the best of both worlds, follow these easy guidelines:

  • Invest in collaboration software that allows members of your team to report on their progress toward deadlines and goals without having to meet at a specific time and location.
  • Encourage team members to block out "off-limits" focus times on their calendars so they may devote uninterrupted time to key activities throughout the day. Time blocking can assist in keeping these timetables on track.
  • Each meeting should have a time limit. Attendees are free to leave if the meeting runs over. This ensures that everyone stays on track.
  • Lack of Organization
  • Nothing is more inconvenient or time-consuming than looking for essential documents in old emails or computer files. Your team should be able to access folders and frequently used documents quickly and easily.

    For keeping papers organized, cloud-based filing systems such as Box or Google Drive are essential. Take it a step further by ensuring that your document and folder naming convention is basic and straightforward. Finding a folder is excellent, but if you can't determine what it is, the benefit of being able to find it is diminished.

    Empower your team to create a procedure that works for them and then put it in place as a group. This encourages students to take responsibility for the organization, as they are the ones who are most likely to add to folders and access papers. As a leader, this relieves you of one more responsibility, allowing you to concentrate on being as productive as possible.
