Difference Between TCCA And SDIC

The suspension quantitative germicidal test method was used to compare the germicidal efficacy of two kinds of swimming pool disinfectants.Results sodium dichloroisocyanurate and trichloroisocyanurate aqueous solution containing 150mg/L available chlorine were used.

The average killing log values were 6.71 and 7.62, respectively, for e. coli in suspension treated for 5 min.The average killing logarithms of Staphylococcus aureus in suspension were 5.37 and 6.47, respectively. The effective chlorine containing sodium dichloroisocyanurate and trichloroisocyanuric acid were used to treat candida albicans in suspension for 5 min, and the average killing logarithms were 4.75 and 6.41, respectively.

Sodium dichloroisocyanurate and trichloroisocyanuric acid containing 1500 mg/L available chlorine were used to treat bacillus subtilis black variant spore in suspension for 10 min, and the average killing value was 2.47 and 7.51, respectively.

The conclusion is obvious that under the same effective chlorine concentration, the bactericidal effect of trichloroisocyanuric acid is better than that of sodium dichloroisocyanurate.This is also the reason why trichloroisocyanuric acid can stand out among many swimming pool disinfectants.
