Google has been relentless in refining mobile search for the ideal user experience. AMP is Google’s open-source initiative for a better mobile user experience by lessening page size and loading times. Google announced the initiative in February of 2016. Later on, in 2016, Google declared that it will enable AMP for all mobile search engine results. A fact about this extension is that it won’t influence organic traffic greatly. Google has made it clear that making a shift to AMP won’t necessarily boost rankings. Instead, Google displays the AMP version of a ranking webpage. So, how does AMP work?

More about AMP

What AMP does is limit pages to their most vital features. It removes several charts, ads, animations, and videos and stores a web page version on Google's custom servers. When users click on AMP links, Google fetches the cached content like immediately.

So we know what is amp. What are the fields of use of this open-source initiative?

Who needs AMP?

Over the few years from the launch of AMP, the general belief has been that media websites fare well on AMP. As media websites have primarily static content, they have experienced substantial increases in organic search traffic. Moreover, Google introduced Rich Cards for presenting website content on the Search results page better. Rich Cards help businesses draw more users to their websites. And "rich cards" is compatible with the AMP format.

AMP isn't a requisite for rich cards. However, AMP pages of rich cars allow users a constantly fast experience. They can scroll rapidly across the rich cards. Advertising maintains to be the foundation of every publisher’s business design. AMP is altering the design ads are produced, built, and included on the web, presenting them faster and reducing disruptions for the user.

Over the years, from its launch, the main fields of use of AMP have been news sites. Examples are The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, BuzzFeed, etc. These websites render text, images, and videos and require loading all files fast.

Content platforms are similar. For Content platforms to thrive and retain readers, they must deliver content constantly. Thus, they have to handle tremendous amounts of information. ALP allows such platforms to handle a massive quantity of data and guarantee excellent performance.

There is more. AMP helps lessen the bounce rate of web pages.

What are the other fields of use of AMP? They are informational websites, e-stores, blogs, and everybody wanting faster websites, improved user experience, and better conversion rates.

The question "what is amp" is incomplete without mentioning one thing. It is easy to implement on websites built with Word Press. Several website owners have relished the idea of increasing traffic with a simple plug-in.

AMP has had progressively less attention over the past few years. Now, the AMP symbol is not visible in search results. People thinking about implementing AMP on their websites should consider some things. If their website is not Word Press, they should employ a web developer. AMP is pointless for pages for building a brand or generating leads. Lastly, they must deploy A/B testing.
