JEMAT Examination-An Overview

MBA in Aviation Management is a two-year post-graduation course that deals with the airline industry, airport development planning, etc. which also inculcates a combined knowledge of fundamental management systems in the students. Many young aspirants are interested in pursuing this course as it has a much broader scope. Aspiring candidates can get selected for positions such as airport manager, airport operation management, airport director etc after completing this popular aviation program.
Aviation Colleges conduct popular Entrance Examinations like GMAT, CAT, MAT, JEMAT that aspirants need to clear for seeking admission in MBA in Aviation Management Program. The entrance exam’s eligibility criteria are entirely dependent on the conducting body, so it varies from College to College. But there are some similarities too like exams are entirely based on analytics, data interpretation, and quantitative aptitude, exams may be conducted offline or online. It is also to be kept in mind that the syllabus and the subjects for the Entrance Examination are based on the preference of the colleges and institutions.
Today I am going to give an overview of the JEMAT Entrance Examination which is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University Of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal once a year for admission of aspirants in the MBA program The full form of JEMAT is Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test. The examination evaluates the knowledge of the candidates, especially in Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and English. For taking this entrance Examination candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria :
Candidates must have a UGC/AICTE approved Bachelor’s degree.
Aspiring Candidates from Engineering/ Architecture/ Pharmacy or equivalent streams can apply.
Final year students are also eligible for provisional admission provided that they submit their final mark sheet before the allotted deadline.
Previously, as per the exam pattern, there were 100 MCQ questions which the aspirants need to answer.
But, some changes are made by MAKAUT in regards to the future JEMAT Entrance Examination keeping in mind the deadly pandemic crisis. They are as follows:
The JEMAT Entrance examination will be conducted online.
Seat Intake based on JMAT Scores has been increased.
The duration of the exam has been reduced to one hour, previously it was a 2-hour examination.
Candidates needed to answer a total of 100 MCQ questions but currently, it has been reduced to fifty. Candidates can visit the official website of MAKAUT for further details regarding this exam.
