Beyonce and Solange Knowles spend quality time together at lavish party in New Orleans… but Jay Z is nowhere to be seen

Since the famous elevator scandal in May they’ve insisted their family is stronger than ever.

But it appeared Jay Z decided to skip joining his wife Beyonce and her sister Solange Knowles during the Ball Out Beaucoup bash thrown in conjunction with the Prospect 3 multidisciplinary arts festival in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday.

Unphased by his absence, the chummy sisters joked about backstage at the event cuddling up for some happy snaps as Beyonce, 33, pulled a peace sign over her eyes and her beloved sibling posed gleefully with her hands on her knees.

There's nothing like a good bit of sisterly love, but there is one other double act that caught our eye in this shot of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles. Queen Bey's shoes!

Meanwhile 28-year-old Solange worked a hyper-orange layered dress which she teamed with trendy beige Puma trainers that boasted gold detailing.

No doubt the Losing You star wanted to stand out for the party which she was hosting. Over the weekend Solange posted several images of the event, urging her Instagram followers to purchase tickets.

After taking to the stage to address the audience Solange enjoyed a bite to eat with her partner Alan Ferguson and Beyoncé.

Punters were delighted with the bash, taking to Twitter to praise the star’s hospitality and natural charm.

Earlier in the year the Carter-Knowles clan went into damage control following leaked surveillance footage of Solange and Jay Z fighting in a lift at the New York Met Gala, which was released online.

Footage showed Solange lashing out wildly at her 44-year-old brother-in-law, with both her arms and her legs, while Beyonce stood beside them looking curiously impassive.

The following day, the two sisters and Jay Z addressed the video captured by cameras at The Standard Hotel in New York.

'As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,' they said in a statement.

'Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.'

'The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behaviour throughout that evening are simply false,' the statement continued.

'At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.'

It is unclear what exactly caused the altercation between the rapper and his sister in law.

Meanwhile other stars in attendance at the party included Kelis, who dazzled the crowd with a spine-tingling performance, and SZA, who wore a Rod Stewart tribute T-shirt.
