It is a device that captures a heavy concentration of oxygen from a gas supply, and delivers a mixture enriched in oxygen. Oxygen generators make use of pressure swing absorption technology to deliver oxygen. The resultant gas produced through this process is mostly used for healthcare purposes in clinics or homes, since the use of liquid or pressurized oxygen is too dangerous or inconvenient in these cases. Oxygen generators are extremely useful in emergency-care situations, since they are not as dangerous as oxygen cylinders. This quality makes them particularly useful in military and disaster situations.
