How Can I Make My Jeep JK Speakers Sound Better?

Jeep JK are surprisingly popular, given their history as a wartime tool. They aren't particularly fashionable, and they don't handle as well as a standard car. Aside from these issues, they sell like hotcakes. The stereo in these vehicles is disappointing. Small speakers at the bottom of the dash, an overhead soundbar, and a set of even smaller speakers at the top of the dash comprise the basic sound system in the Jeep JK.

It's perplexing that a manufacturer would choose to reduce the size of the speakers they use, especially since the system lacks a subwoofer. The following upgrades can improve the sound system of your Jeep JK.

1. Add a subwoofer

The initial sound system consisted of a series of small speakers of poor quality. For sound distribution, these speakers are put throughout the vehicle. When it comes to enhancing your Jeep JK's sound system, it could be argued that installing a subwoofer is the greatest place to start.

The inclusion of a speaker, housing, and amplifier specifically intended to produce greater bass improves the overall sound quality. The load on the current smaller speakers will be reduced by adding a subwoofer, allowing them to provide better sound. Because subwoofers are a collection of systems, they can be costly.

2. Upgrade the Sound Bar

The soundbar is the section of the ceiling speakers positioned right beyond the front row of seats. Upgraded speakers in your Jeep will not only allow you to listen to louder music, but they will also give more bass, resulting in a deeper listening experience. Your backseat passengers will be able to enjoy the music just as much as those in the front. You'll have to pay a bit more for a complete soundbar and speaker upgrade.

3. Add an Amp

An amp will provide the extra power your Jeep JK speaker system requires to meet the new and upgraded systems. There should be enough room inside the dash, depending on the amp, for it to sit safely.

The amplifier is commonly installed beneath the passenger seat. This is the simplest way to set up this system. The amplifier is at risk of moisture damage and bumps if it is placed on the floor. Installing your amplifier inside the dash keeps it safe and extends its life.

4. Add more speakers

By adding more speakers you can solve the problem of poor listening experience. You have plenty of room to add more speakers as long as you don't use the space under the seats or in the trunk. If you want to keep those areas free for other storage, you'll have to get a little more creative with speaker placement.

Depending on the make and model, Jeep JK comes with a variety of soundbars. Upgrading your Jeep JK's speaker is not a master project and can be completed with a screwdriver and a few accessories used to sound treat the soundbar. Even replacing the speakers is a simple task.
