To take care of your jewelry and keep it clean and ready to wear, gently remove excess makeup and oil from your skin after each wear. Use a cotton cloth that does not contain tar and gently wipe the garment with only soft fingertips. Store in jewelry or soft bag.

To prevent damage to sterling silver, wrap the item in absorbent jewelry paper, place it in a zippered plastic bag, and close it.

When cleaning silver, remember that it is a very soft metal and can be easily damaged by a nail or piece of cloth suddenly bouncing off the metal surface. For this reason, use one of the following methods to clean heavier dirt and stains:

To remove fingerprints, light oil, or stains, apply a small amount of mild soap solution to half a cup of warm water, soak for 2-3 minutes, rinse with water, place in a waterproof plastic bag, and wipe thoroughly.

Be very careful when using any softening method to clean jewelry with soft stones such as amber, lapis lazuli, or turquoise. Prolonged soaking in any solution can ruin the shine of the stone. Never use chlorine bleach on jewelry.

To remove excessive wear and tear, wipe the surface with a 100% cotton cloth and a good nonabrasive metal cleaner. Be sure to remove any remaining detergent from the precious stones and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Never use toothpaste!

Silver cleaning

Silver is subject to deterioration over time, resulting in dry or black jewelry as well. Destruction occurs when silver is exposed to oxygen and sulfur in the air. This is inevitable, but, thankfully, it does not damage the metal and can be easily cleaned.

How to prevent a malfunction:

Wearing only your silver jewelry will slow down the process of deterioration. Being careful how you store and wear silver will also help reduce the rate of deterioration.

Remove the silver bracelet and the bracelet when you wash your hands. Removal of soap and hand gels can result in a dry surface.

The silver jewelry should be kept in a separate bag.

Avoid dry environments.

However, when the metal begins to look red or black, it is time to take out the cleaning products to make the jewelry look new.

How to clean silver:

The simplest way to clean silver is to clean with a cleaning solution and cloth. There are many examples on the market. Just make sure they are specially designed for silver cleaning. The silver cleaning cloth should be soft and packed with a detergent agent.

If you do not have expert cleaners in the home, then no as there are home options for polishing your silver. A cup of warm water and a few drops of washing liquid will help to disperse the mess.

Wash a few drops of silver jewelry in a bowl of hot water for ten minutes.

Gently wipe the silver with a clean, soft brush.

Wash in warm, warm water.

Let them air dry.

For more stubborn deterioration, you can use a combination of white vinegar and water.

In a bowl mix the white vinegar and equal parts of water.

Scrape a clean toothbrush into the solution and gently brush the affected areas of silver.

Stand up and let the air dry.

The cleaning of gold

It doesn't take long for the gold jewelry to fade. Daily signs of fingerprints and dirt can make the fastest gold possible. Thankfully, we have some tips to help you get the glow on once again.

If gold jewelry contains precious stones or pearls, please be extra careful when cleaning pieces. Check out the rest of the guide on how best to clean individual jewelry so that you don't damage jewelry.

A cleaning solution specially designed for jewelry is a safe option, but make sure any solution is for the right metal or jewelry. If in doubt, it is best to use the following steps:

Add a few drops of washing-up liquid (or another light reducing solution) to a bowl of water. Extreme temperature changes can damage the ornament, so avoid hot or snowy water.

Put the ornaments in the dock for ten minutes to remove any dirt. Clean with a soft brush

Make sure to clean a good piece of jewelry and be careful when cleaning critical parts of jewelry (for example, on a stone setting). Wash thoroughly in clear water to remove any residue of soap and residue. Gently pat dry with a dry cloth or allow it to dry on air.

Gold is a very soft metal that is susceptible to fatigue. Keep this fact in mind during the cleaning and drying process and be as gentle as possible.
