Clinical research is being conducted in a local south Charlotte dermatology practice and is looking for acne vulgaris patients. With quite a lot of diseases still not having a proper treatment plan or cure, it’s important to conduct clinical studies in order to better understand the disease and therefore find a solution. With acne vulgaris, there is no treatment available either. We’re only managing symptoms with medicine but this isn’t a long-term solution or cure. Let’s dive deeper into this study.

What is Acne Vulgaris

Acne Vulgaris is a skin condition that effects mainly teenagers. It occurs when the hair follicles in the skin get clogged with oil, bacteria and dead skin cells. This causes the hair follicles to get irritated. When the follicles are irritated, they form pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and even cysts. This is one of the most common skin conditions among teenagers. It is estimated that about 80% of teenagers face issues related to acne. In some cases, it can even persist into adulthood. It’s hard to believe that despite being this common, Acne Vulgaris still doesn’t have a proper cure. Patients suffering from acne vulgaris are only prescribed treatment plans to manage the symptoms till they go away on their own. This is quite frustrating as it not only impacts someone’s physical appearance, but it also impacts their mental health if they get bullied for it.

What causes Acne Vulgaris

Acne Vulgaris is mainly caused by either hormones, excess oil, or bacteria. A combination of all three can cause some of the worst acne reactions that are harder to control with treatment. The androgen hormone is responsible for the production of oil. During puberty, this hormone produces excess oil which can clog your pores and hair follicles. This in turn causes the production of acne. Hormone imbalances is one of the main causes of acne in teenagers. It is very important to have a good skin care routine in order to prevent your pores from clogging. Clogged pores cause the oil and bacteria to get trapped under the skin which causes acne. It is therefore crucial to speak with top dermatologists in Charlotte NC in order to get to the bottom of things as soon as possible.

How to be eligible to participate in this clinical research

A randomized, double-blind, study in Phase 2 is conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ACCUMAX SUBLINGUAL and Quercetin in adults patients with moderate to severe acne vulgaris. This study is very detailed and if successful, will be a breakthrough in medicine. 6 visits will be required for the whole research. A stipend of $200 will be provided for each completed visits. In order to participate in this study, you have to adhere to some very strict criteria:
