How to set up your email account manuallyIf you need to set up your email account manually, make sure you know the email settings for your account. If you don't know them, you can search for them or contact your email provider. Then follow these steps:

Go to Settings> Email, then tap Accounts.Touch Add account, touch Other, then touch Add email account.Enter your name, email address, password, and a description of your account.Click Next. Mail will try to find your email settings and finish setting up your account. If Mail finds your email settings, tap Done to complete your account setup Email not working on iPhone & iPad.

Enter account settings manuallyIf Mail cannot find your email settings, you must enter them manually. Press Next, then follow these steps:

Choose IMAP or POP for your new account. If you're not sure which one to choose, contact your email provider.Enter the information for the incoming mail server and the outgoing mail server. Then tap Next. If you don't have this information, try searching for it.If your email settings are correct, touch Save to finish. If the email settings are wrong, you will be prompted to edit them.If you still cannot set up your email account or save your email settings, contact your email provider.

Mail won't open on iPhone or iPad, how to fix itWe recently received some emails about a problem some users were experiencing on their iPad and iPhones. When they tapped on iOS Mail, they were able to open their inbox, view the sender's details and the subject line of the email.

How to fix iPhone or iPad email when not updatingStep 1: email won't openGo to Settings> Passwords and accounts (or Accounts and passwords, Settings> Mail, or Mail, Contacts, Calendar)

Step 2: email won't openTouch the email account you are having trouble with; this example shows iOS 11.

For iOS 12+, find Settings> Passwords & Accounts and for iOS 10, find Settings> Mail.

Step 3: delete your email accountDelete the email account.

Please note that you will not lose your stored emails or contacts related to this account.

The email is stored on the server, so once you resolve the issue, it reappears.

Step 4: Restart your iDeviceOnce you have confirmed the account deletion, restart your device.

Step 5: Add email accountGo back to Settings> Passwords and Accounts (for iOS 11, Accounts and Passwords or in iOS 10 and earlier, Settings> Mail or Mail, Contacts and Calendar).

Touch Add account and follow the instructions to set up your email account on the device.

Step 6: Set up your email accountOnce you set up your email account on your iPad or iPhone, give it a try. You should be able to download and open your emails and read them.
