Beanies made out of wool are the most commonplace in the market. Many people prefer woolen material because of its natural properties. Woolen beanies can be customized to fit a customers’ preference very easily, helping to ensure the customer gets exactly what they want. For example, a customer may want wool beanies with folded bases or just an embroidered winter hat. Whichever the case, the supplier looks at the customer’s requirements and makes him or her an order exactly according to their specifications.

In addition to keeping the head warm in winter, beanies are comfortable and non-allergenic, since they are made of natural materials. They are also sun-safe, thereby protecting wearers from effects of Ultraviolet rays.

All beanies need care, whether they are wool, cashmere, or another delicate fiber. However, not all users may know how to take care of their hats in the best way. First, it is important to know that beanies can be hand-washed or machine-washed. Whichever way one chooses to do it, what matters is properly following the procedure to get the best results. The process applies to all types of woolen beanies including Vermont originals.

To start with, use cool or lukewarm water to wash beanies. Never use hot water because it makes the fibers shrink and spoil the cap. The process of washing is simple. When hand washing, just fill a sink with cool or lukewarm water and add a detergent. The detergent can be a special wool detergent, laundry detergent, or mild shampoo. Shampoo is recommended because wool is made of an animal’s hair. The best type is baby shampoo because it is quite mild to use in woolen beanies.

Mix soap and water and submerge the beanie to soak the soapy water for about five minutes. This enables the fibers to absorb the detergent, as the dirt gets loose. Do gentle squeezes only, and no wringing or hard squeezes. Woolen fibers are weak and flexible and with constant stretch, they are bound to flax and the beanie can lose its shape.

After a few gentle squeezes, rinse the beanie in a clean water to remove the detergent. When the water for rinsing becomes clear, it means all detergent has come out and the beanie is clean. Remove from water and spread on a flat ground to dry, preferably under shade.

When using a washing machine to clean the beanie, use cool water and detergent. Use gentle cycles and do not put the beanie on the dryer, as this may spoil its fibers. Once the process is over, remove from machine and spread on a rack to dry.
