We love our family. There is nothing more that we want than to see them happy and healthy. This involves complete wellness of the body and mind. Staying healthy does not restrict to being physically fit and disease free. It also includes taking care of one’s mental and emotional health as well. But we often neglect this aspect of the good health.

Just like adults, children also feel the emotion of stress and anxiety. They constantly challenge with their emotional and behavioral difficulties. The parents should be prepared and aware to deal with these situations at any times. If your toddler has been suddenly showing more tantrums at the shopping mall or there are increased occurrences of fights between your kids, you need to manage and deal with it patiently. These are several things that can be done to prevent such problems from arising:

Spending Quality Time Together

Experts in Counselling Brisbane suggest finding family time and spending quality time with your kids, even on your busiest days. One habit that can help to achieve this is by having dinner together with your family every day. If your busy schedule does not allow this, make this a habit every alternate day. You can host a special family brunch on weekends. This would keep the bonding between the family members strong.

Avoid Mealtime Troubles

Food fussiness in toddlers could be their way of gaining attention. This could make mealtimes a big worry for a concerned parent. But it is also a simple, learning phase to prepare kids to be comfortable while eating at the table with visitors and develop healthy eating habits. Try to be patient and make mealtimes a fun activity to enjoy rather than a routine task for you and your child.

Taming Toddler Tantrums

Kicking, screaming and foot pounding are a way of expression used by children to communicate with you. Don’t assume these as a behavioral problem. This might be a sign that your child is hungry, tired and over – stimulated.

Teach Good Habits

Teach your kids to greet guests and say please and thank you. Follow good habits yourself before you teach them. They learn what they see. Good habits develop with time and consistent practice. So, try to be calm when they refuse to talk to a guest.

Praise and Appreciate

Children need to be appreciated for good deeds. Often praise your kids for doing the right thing. They try to imitate what we do. So, strictly maintain manners when they are around in order to teach them some.

Support and Encourage

Children need constant support and encouragement to deal with everyday situations. Instead of reprimanding kids for a broken glass or spill, try to make them differentiate between right and wrong. Teach them the do’s and don’ts in a friendly manner.

With these points in mind, you will surely make growing up a good experience for your children. But if you are still worried about something, do consult with experts in time. Till then, Happy Parenting!!
