August 2014: Best Sales Month for Buick This Year

Great new from Detroit where Buick has posted an amazing sales report for the month of August, making it the most successful month thus far this year for one of America's most beloved auto brands. This marks a much anticipated turning point for the brand's reimaging campaign and a vital step in the overall rebranding process that was started last year with the "Experience new Buick" public reintroduction to brand awareness program. The report sites both domestic retail sales as well as total sales figures (including custom orders and international sales) as being best of year individually and in total.

While the brand's overall sales figures did decline slightly in terms of retail sales to individual customers from posted numbers over this same period the previous year and 10% from the record breaking overall sales numbers that were recorded for the August 2013 sales period. The overall view of the August 2014 sales figures is that the brand is once more growing in market awareness and viable purchase option factors for the mid-grade to affordable luxury vehicle grade customer markets.

2014 sales to date for Buick are up 4% in the retail sector and up 8% overall in terms of brand. These numbers far outpace the average industry growth rate. The main push behind these numbers is the award winning Buick Regal and industry leading Buick Encore models. This increase is a clear sign that the current Buick model lineup is more in line with the current design and feature trends of consumers in the targeted price point range. The buzz in the industry is "luxury is back" and Buick, always a strong leader in the affordable luxury category of domestic brand plates is leading the market in the same way that did some 40 years ago when it was the nations #1 middle class brand for affordable, attainable luxury.

These two main stage players are what has made Buick's August 2014 numbers possible, but deep down it's a lot more than just two innovative and interest drawing vehicles that have brought the company back from the edge of the GM chopping block and put it on square footing in the market as a positioned leader for the affordable luxury market share. The whole idea of a "new Buick" is exciting and has resonated with consumers who want to see a strong, innovative and affordable domestic brand offering class, distinction and quality. Buick is back and if these numbers are any indicator it is here to stay, for a very long time.
