Refrigeration has a large impact on our human civilization. Starting from ice harvesting to temperature-controlled rail cars, refrigeration technology has evolved very fast in the last few decades. With the invention of refrigeration, agricultural production and sales have gone up. Starting from small farms to big food industries all have benefited from the creation of refrigeration. It has been used on farms to reduce humidity levels as it helps reduce bacterial growth and helps in preservation.

Usage Of Refrigeration

In commercial fields, refrigeration has many uses. It helps liquefy gases like oxygen, propane, methane, and nitrogen.

Refrigeration also helps to temper cutlery and steel. A commercial refrigeration freezer is designed in a way that even when the door is opened thousands of times a day the temperature still remains unchanged and the products inside are also undamaged. In this way, the food waste goes down and economical growth goes up. Before the invention of the refrigerator, in the early 20th century most foods were damaged sooner than expected by the changing of seasons. Refrigeration made it possible to preserve foods and thus the "supermarket" culture became popular. Refrigeration increased the production and preservation of meat and dairy products, making them accessible at a reasonable price. Prior to the invention of refrigeration, people used to only shop on a daily basis and it was time-consuming. Refrigeration made it easier to save time and live a productive lifestyle. Whether you run a dairy shop or run a cafe you should always keep your commercial refrigeration in a good place. For your commercial refrigeration repair always keep a reliable source handy because we cannot imagine a day without a refrigerator and its usefulness. For commercial refrigeration, installations, maintenance, and air conditioning Refrigeration Nelson is a good option.

Refrigeration Methods

There are four methods of refrigeration; they are

  • Non-cyclic
  • Cyclic
  • Thermoelectric
  • Magnetic
  • Non-Cyclic Refrigeration

This method of refrigeration is done by melting ice or by dry ice. One of the best examples of a non-cyclic refrigeration system is a portable cooler. In this way, items are put inside and ice is poured from the top.

  • Cyclic Refrigeration

In this process of refrigeration, heat is removed from a source of low temperature and then it is thrown into a reservoir of high temperature. In this process, the flow of the temperature is reversed and it also works opposite of the thermodynamic power cycle. Cyclic refrigeration can further be divided into two types; vapor cycle and gas cycle.

  • Thermoelectric

This process of refrigeration uses the Peltier effect and creates a heat flux in the junction between the existing two different materials. A voltage is applied and that provides electricity. In every case, DC voltage is used.

  • Magnetic

This cooling technology is based on the magnetocaloric effect. With this refrigeration method, even extremely low temperatures can be attained as well as the ranges of various temperatures used in most refrigerators. This was the first method used for cooling down below 0.3 K temperature.
