You are moving or remodeling or you simply decided it is time for a TV upgrade. However, you want to show off your new sleek TV and decide to feature it on the wall. But what TV bracket do you need? Does any 42" bracket fit your TV?

VESA – the video electronic standard association

The quickest and easiest way to check whether your TV bracket of your choice fit your TV would be to use the One For All product selector. If you do not have an internet connection, you can best use the VESA measurements. These are standards established by a renowned association and TV packaging as well as TV bracket packaging both state these. The VESA measurement states the distance between the two holes horizontally and the two holes vertically. You can see these holes on the back of your TV and measure them to confirm your VESA options.

VESA sizes& types of TV brackets

The smallest VESA measurement is 75x75 (millimeters) and the biggest is 1400x800 (millimeters). When looking at TV brackets there are generally three categories: flat, tilt, and turn. As the name already states, a flat TV bracket will allow you to hang the television flat to the wall –nothing more, just a simple very close mount to the wall. When you would like to change the angle in which you can watch television with your TV mounted, you would most likely select a TV bracket with tilt option. Most common tilt angles are between 5° and 15°. You might also want to be able to watch television from different seats or places in your living area; here a TV bracket with turn capability would be the ideal solution. Most of the time the turn functionality is combined with a tilt motion as well, thus resulting in a "full motion" TV bracket. Depending on whether the TV bracket has a single arm or more hinges, the turn motion ranges between 45° and 180°.
