Why is your commercial air conditioning not turning on?

Posted: Feb 27, 2022

With winters receding and summers just around the corner, it is time for you to check on your air conditioning system to ensure it doesn't ditch you at the very last moment. It is so because if your commercial air conditioning is not working fine, it can discourage the workers and leave the customers disheartened. In case, during the inspection, you discover that the AC is refusing to turn on, then here is a list of causes that might be causing the disruption. Check it out!
Reasons why your AC won't work
Defective Power Supply-
If your AC is not working, first of all, check the AC's PowerPoint or stabilizer and see if it is giving 220-volt output. If not, then it is an indication of a defective power supply. It means that a loose connection, tripped MCB, internal defect in the circuit, or burnt power board is responsible for a faulty voltage supply. In this case, you should call an electrician who can resolve the problem for you.
Clogged filters
If you do not clean the air filters regularly, your AC will have to work hard to cool your commercial space, and over a period of time, it will stop working altogether. It is so because the indoor unit of the AC has an evaporator and the outdoor unit contains a compressor. The refrigerant lines run between these two. When the filters get clogged, the airflow gets restricted and warm air fails to reach the refrigerant. As a result, the refrigerant becomes cold, and the moisture on the coils freeze.
Broken Circuit-
Check the display of your AC and notice whether or not it is turning on after pressing the power button on the panel or remote. If your commercial air conditioning system is not functioning, it is a sign of a broken PCB or LVT circuit. You should book an expert AC technician to determine if the PCB board needs replacement.
Damaged Motor Van-
If the power supply and circuit are fine, you should inspect your commercial air conditioning system to check whether an error code is flashing on display. Sometimes, when the sensors or other electrical components like a fan or step valve stop functioning, the AC won't work. You must call the customer care service or an AC expert to resolve the problem based on the error code.
So, these are a few reasons that might be responsible for your commercial air conditioner's failure to turn on. You should call a technician to fix these problems.
