Maintaining an entire garden all by yourself is a very hard task, which requires a lot of attention and devotion. Not everybody possesses the patience and skills needed to take care of everything all by themselves. But when you think about it from a different angle, there are only four essential elements every garden needs to possess in order for the plants in it to grow and develop properly and without any complications. Everything else, like the good care, the special additions to the soil and other stuff, is just a bonus to the mandatory minimum care. If you have these essential elements in your garden, then you have nothing to worry about. With little free time and care every day, you will be able to grow a very beautiful and colourful garden. So, let's check what you need to have and see.

Soil. The soil is the most important element for absolutely every garden. After all, every plant in this world needs soil in order to grow and bloom. You can't grow flowers or vegetables, or any other plant in that matter, if you don't have the appropriate and fertile soil to do it. The serious issue for some people in Sydney and the area is, that the ground in their backyard is just not fertile, or the soil is just not the right kind for the plants they want to grow. Maybe before this would be a serious problem, but nowadays we have many ways to turn everything around and get what we want. If you have a similar problem, you can always try raised garden beds or just adding the soil you need to your garden. It's important to ask the landscape gardeners in advance if the plants you want in the garden require some additional maintenance or some special soil, so you can avoid the unpleasant surprises.

Water. As you know, the water is also an essential element for every garden and plant. Without water everything on this planet would just dry out and die in a very horrible way. This is why you should make sure that your garden has a constant access to a water supply, because most plants need to be watered once a day, and it would be very difficult for you to bring water from a distant source. This is why you should make sure that there is a tap somewhere close to you.

Sun. Every living being is depending on the sun, which provides us warmth and light. We need those things, if we want to grow and be healthy. Without the sun our planet would be covered in ice and all life would be impossible. So, I guess you understand why it's essential for your garden to have a good exposure to sun. Without it it would be impossible to grow many plants. Of course, there are some plants like lettuce, radishes and spinach, which prefer a light shade, but unless you want to grow only these, I suggest you find a way to make your garden more sunny.

Pest control. Every garden has its enemies in the face of different pests. For some people these enemies are rabbits, beetles, moles or any other pest you can find. The pests can be very dangerous and can destroy your entire garden, so you should get rid of them before they have the chance. Fortunately, there are many natural and chemical ways to deal with all kinds of pests.
