History of Vedantu

It all began in 2006 when Vasmi Krishna founded his first venture in education named "lakshya" with his other three IItian friends, Pulkit Jain, Saurabh Saxena, and Anand Prakash. The purpose of this venture was to train students for a variety of exams. In due time, they realized this platform demands numerous dedicated and skilled teachers. In 2012, a listed company MT Educare (Mahesh Tutorials) acquired "lakshya". Initially, the founders taught and mentored more than 10,000 students and trained up to 200 teachers for this venture.

Then they began the preparation of an Edtech startup named "Vedantu". It was officially introduced in 2014.
