Vegetable Manchow Soup-A truly palatable Chinese recipe
Ingredients
- Water, 4 cups
- Finely chopped ginger, 1 tsp
- Finely chopped garlic, 1 tsp
- Finely chopped green chilies, 1 tsp
- Finely chopped coriander leaves, 1 tsp
- Finely chopped French beans, 2 tsp
- Finely chopped carrots, 2 tsp
- Finely chopped Cabbage, 2 tsp
- Finely chopped capsicum, 2 tsp
- Finely chopped mushrooms, 2 tsp
- Finely chopped spring onions, 2
- Pepper, 1 tsp
- Soya sauce, 1 tsp
- Cornflour, 4 tsps blended with water (1 cup), spring onions (2 stems)
- Oil, 3 tsps
- Salt, according to taste
Instructions
In a saucepan, add some oil, sauté the finely chopped ginger, garlic, coriander leaves and green chilli slices for two minutes. Add all the finely chopped veggies, pepper, ajinomoto, salt (according to taste) and continue to stir-fry for 3 minutes. Now it is time to add Soya Sauce, water and salt as required. Let the mixture get boiled, reduce the flame and add the cornflour powder blended with water and stir continuously till it gets thick. Now remove it from flame and serve hot. Decorate with spring onion stems.
Chowmein or Chinese Noodles

Ingredients
- Steamed Chowmein, 8 ounces
- Pork, 2 ounces of thin slices
- Shelled and deveined Shrimps, 5
- Finely chopped garlic cloves, 3
- Shredded Cabbage, ½ cup
- Shredded Carrot, ¼ cup
- Soy sauce, 1 tsp
- Oyster Sauce, 1 tsp
- Sugar, ½ tsp
- Chinese dark soy sauce, ½ tsp
- Water, 2 tsp
- Cooking oil, 2 tsp
- Scallions, 2 stalks
- Salt to taste
Instructions
Soak the steamed Chinese noodles in chilled water for duration of 5 minutes. Wash and drain until the water turns transparent and the noodles are soft. Keep aside. In a small sized mixing casserole, blend all the veggies and ingredients. Keep aside. Heat the frying pan, put some cooking oil. Add some chopped garlic, sauté them until golden. Add pork, shrimps and stir fry until they are half cooked. Now add the shredded cabbage, carrot into the mixture and stir it a few times. Now it is time to add Chinese noodles, the seasoning blend and the water. Stir until, Chowmein is completely blended with the other ingredients, and cooked through. Now add the finely chopped scallions, stir it, decorate it and serve immediately.
