For dealing with the sweltering heat during the summer season, you need an air conditioning unit. Now, the question arises whether you should invest in purchasing a new AC or hire one? Hiring an AC unit is a good alternative if you are looking for a temporary solution. This way, you can get a portable unit that rests on the floor and connects to a standard main outlet. But the concern here is that while mobile orfloor standing AC units can offer you quick relief from the heat, they aren’t ideal for many situations. Here are the main benefits and drawbacks of hiring an AC unit. Have a glance!

Advantages of hiring a temporary AC

  • The main benefit of hiring an air conditioning unit is the low upfront costs. While purchasing an AC can make you spend a large amount, hiring charges are a few hundred rupees per month. Of course, they can differ based on your residence and the model you are renting. So, if you need an AC for a one-off occasion, it would be better to rent one instead of making the purchase.

  • Hiring a temporary air conditioning unit can be an ideal choice if you opt for a portable unit. These systems can be easily relocated, although they are pretty hefty. So, if you are looking to cool several areas in your home over the following weeks, then hiring a short-term air conditioning unit will be a good choice.

  • Using portable AC is helpful if you are looking to cool down a structure where you can’t install an air conditioner. It might be because of the house renting rules or because you have no place to set up the outside AC unit. So, if you are looking to install a system in such a place, then opting for the hiring alternative would be better.

Disadvantages of hiring a temporary AC

  • Hiring an AC may be an expensive decision initially, but that won’t be the case in the long term. Because when you rent a unit, you are not getting a system that is yours to keep. Instead, you are paying off monthly rent aside from the running cost of that system and returning it after you are done using it. Also, portable conditioners are less effective than permanent solutions, so they have high running costs.

  • Many temporary air conditioning units produce much more noise than permanent solutions. This can lead to sound pollution at your home or business. So, if you intend to keep the noise to a minimum, then a short-term air conditioning unit is probably not your answer.

  • Another disadvantage of mobile AC is that it can compromise your safety. It has a hosepipe that feeds out warm waste air. It means that you need to install it nearby a window and feed the pipe outside. It can lead to penalties and may cause harm to the safety and security of your place.

So, these are a few advantages and disadvantages of hiring an air conditioner. Based on these points, you should choose whether to purchase a unit or rent one for your space.
