Flood barriers are used to protect buildings and houses from flooding and prevent the damage occurred by the floodwater. They are of various types. Some of them are permanently fixed and others are demountable. This means it can be set during the flood times and taken it back after the flooding. They can be installed without any help from manpower, and they can be stored easily when it’s not in use.

What are the Common Technical Specifications of NF-35G Flood Barriers?

The NF-35G Flood Barrier provides excellent protection as same as demountable flood barriers. The main difference between them is glass barriers have transparent thick glasses. These glasses are used to get a clear view of the landscape without any visual blockage.

These flood barriers can have a height of 1.2 meters of effective flood height (EFH) apart from the concrete foundation.

When it comes to the material used for the manufacturing of the parts, the side posts are made up of 6063-T6 aluminum alloy material. The 6063 aluminum materials are light in weight and have good corrosion resistance. The height of the side post is 1.35m as maximum and in the section, it has T10.0*70*85mm. These side posts are having a linear weight of up to 6.75Kg/m.

NF-35G flood barriers have triple-layered laminated tempered safety glass. These glasses provide enhanced safety in protection, and also it is used to get a clear view of the landscape without any obstruction. These glasses are having a density of up to 87.5 kg /m2.

The central posts which hold the glass are made up of 6063-T5 aluminum material. These posts are having the same height as the side posts, which is 1.35m max. The side post has a section of T20.0*85*140mm and has a linear weight of 12.75kg/m. The central posts are fixed to anchor plates with concrete foundation, which provides greater sustainability.

The glasses and posts are sealed with the use of EPDM sealants. These seals provide extra grip to the glass attached with the posts and also have great resistance to abrasives and tearing. The total weight of this glass barrier is approximate 98.76kg/m2, where its EFH is 1.23*L 100m for each 2m span.

What are its Important Features?

These glass barriers provide great flood-proof performance without having any water seepage.

They are permanently installed on the ground with the help of the anchor plate, which doesn’t need any extra space for storing.

They provide a durable lifespan and don’t need any extra maintenance after the flooding effect. It requires only surface cleaning over the glasses.

These glass barriers are used along with the demountable flood barrier types for extra protection in case of high flood heights.

Conclusion

Glass barriers are used in many parks and public places with beautiful landscapes in order to get a clear view of the scenery. Due to the unique characteristics of this tempered glass, it won’t harm people or any animals when it is broken accidentally. So, think wisely in choosing the best flood barriers in order to protect yourself from this natural disaster.
