The overall development and growth of a company rely upon 2 main factors: the revenue model and the individuals driving the company. The companies with innovative revenue models and incredible people working for them tend to show hyper-growth rate in a short period of time in comparison to others who don’t possess these 2 factors. Once the business model is accurate, it is much more important to have the right and talented individuals to execute it.

Thanks for sharing this Hiring the right people is a very difficult task. It is even more challenging for individuals who attempt to start a new business without any experience. There are always a few limitations that restrict them to hire the best people even after they agree to all the consequences. Many times it becomes very difficult to find the best fit or talent for a new start-up even after having a large budget and a healthy business model. In such difficulties, one has to evaluate among the available candidates and choose the best.

For the expansion of the company, one needs extraordinary talent to drive core and support the functions of the company. There is always an issue that arises regarding the work experience of approaching candidates. On one hand, there are experienced professionals who have done similar work and have gained experience in the same field, and on the other hand, there are freshers who are enthusiastic about their work and making their place in the corporate world.

Generally, larger companies have a mix of both types of professionals. However, a similar strategy cannot work for new companies or startups due to the budget and it requires proficient judgment with respect to business or company owners to make the right choice or selection of candidates.

Freshers

Fresh graduates give in an open mindset and are about to cope with new experiences in the corporate world. This openness, after being guided well, contributes to new ideas, brings in energy, new methods to process, and new habits of working. This enables the organization towards increasing an innovative culture.

They go into it filled with enthusiasm and ambition. The enthusiasm of pressure needs guidance which helps them to apply their strengths wisely. It is very important to clear all the circumstances and expectations expected from freshers right after the recruitment stage. It is very important for the organization to ensure the strengths of the fresher must be fully directed in the right direction.

Experienced Professionals:

The familiarity of experienced professionals is their largest help to any organization. Inexperienced professionals possess a powerful support system as they have years of experience and are well known about various impacts of actions and strategies.

Given that they have worked in an organization before, they know how to be evaluated acceptably on their knack to consider decisions and direct people. There is a great advantage of hiring experienced people as they know how to tackle and solve certain situations in an organization. They are well experienced in handling situations.

Experienced Professionals should be hired if:
  • The company doesn’t have anybody with specific skills then freshers cannot be a great fit for the company as they will acquire plenty of time and effort to gain experience and skills.
  • The job is censorious and any mistake could lead to serious consequences for the company.
  • The internal members of the company are busy and cannot risk their time in teaching and training the new talent.
  • The company is experiencing fast growth.
  • The position is for people management, one should never entrust the responsibilities of managing people to those who do not have any experience. It is always advisable to promote the experienced people of the company instead of hiring new talent.
  • The company requires special capabilities and abilities.
Freshers should be hired if:
  • The company introduces a new position that does not exist in the market. It is advisable to hire freshers as they can mold according to the company’s particular requirements.
  • The existing team is ready to train and bring up the new talent or freshers.
  • The company is small-scale with a low budget.
  • The company already consists of an expert team in a particular field. It gives a chance to new talent as they can gain knowledge from them.
  • The job consists of small risks.
  • The company’s growth is average and they risk their time in training and bringing up the new talent to their firm.

Hence, balance is a necessity. So, the company will be benefited when it consists of both Experienced Professionals and Freshers as everything has its pros and cons. Similarly hiring just freshers leads to high training cost and time and results in poor implementation whereas hiring just experienced ones may lead to a lack of new innovations and technologies.

Freshers are a great fit in the roles where there is a lot of time in growth for the company whereas Experienced professionals are the best fit when the company is on its way to reaching hyper-growth plans in less time.

Freshers are available in abundance and when you want to recruit the freshers you get a lot of applications. It is important that you have a good screening process so that you can identify the right talent. A Psychometric test can help in screening freshers and shortlisting the freshers with the right aptitude for the job.

If you are hiring Freshers for Sales Jobs ProSales offers a Sales Psychometric test that can help you screen the candidates with an aptitude for Sales.

Another problem that companies face when hiring freshers is that the Freshers do not possess the skills required for the Job.
