Dental Clinic Interior Concepts

What do you notice about the dental clinic that you visit twice (or more times) each year? Doesn’t it offer a warm and a welcoming ambience? The dentist often encounters that most number of reluctant patients so the dental office, naturally, has to have the right design. Dental clinic interior concepts must focus on the comfort and relaxation of patients. If these aspects are followed, then the patients are likelier to come back for their teeth and dental hygiene appointments in the future.

The most important step in dental office design is to make the room not feel overwhelming. There are myriads of choices when making your decision so you can be left uncertain or confused. Do not automatically ask the designer what other dentists are already using as cabinets. Formica cabinets, for instance, have thousands of different shades and styles so you could end up getting confused but you’ve got to be guided by your taste in every step of the way.

Do not let this project become an imposing task for you even when this is the first time that you’re handling such. A lot of people are not sure about their color selection abilities and most do not even have a clue about where to begin so jump on.

Creating a Lasting Impression

Ask yourself this – if you’re surrounded with many different colors and décor options, what kind of impression do you often absorb or appreciate? In the same manner, go out and choose your dental clinic design.

Many dentists just focus on the ambience being relaxed or welcoming that they forget other aspects. The ambience can mean a host of other things.

Just think about your favorite restaurant or hotel – what features or characteristics do they have that you really love? Check some websites and magazines. If you have to cut pictures in order to discover the color scheme that you want then do so. Give yourself ample time to make that important decision. Don’t become so desperate that you just agree with everything that your designer says.

There are many design categories that you need to think about. First, you dental flooring options must be those that are not slippery. When it comes to wall coverings, find out whether you prefer wallpapers, paint or textured walls.

As for your cabinets, would you want granite countertops, units with drawer handles or laminate colors? Of course, you would also need to cover the windows of the clinic; what choice would you want – shades, blinds or shutters?

As for your lighting fixtures, which would be most applicable to you, pendant lighting or wall sconces (apart from the task lights that are inside the patient area). Lastly, you need to carefully consider the furniture that will be brought in from the reception seats down to the dental chairs.

Redesigning or Brand New?

Remember that when a patient enters the clinic, he is forming his first impression. He will be surrounded with different colors and décor but what sort of impression do you think would be embedded in his memory?

For existing offices, you need to consider if you will be changing the current dental chairs, cabinets, even the wall paint. Or would you like to use the existing colors and blend in a new color scheme?

Be wary of the different colors and their effects on the human psyche. This should give you an insight about the shades that you will be choosing. Balance the main color with any contrasting shade. An example is blending light green with dark blue or brown.

Dental clinic interior concepts are different from residential design so you might want to leave the project to the hands of a professional if you are uncertain about what you’re about to do.
