There have been several debates over the best sleeping positions. Some people believe that your sleep posture not only affects how you feel upon waking up the following day but also says something about your personality traits. It says a lot about the type of person you are and indicates your likes and dislikes. For those interested in knowing what your sleep position says about you, read further! Here you go!

Relationship between your personality and sleep positions

  • Fetal sleep position:

In this position, the person is curled up into a ball and lies on one side with his hands and arms bent. Most believe that those who rest in this position are anxious and emotional. Such people tend to be shy around new individuals, but they recover quickly. After fetal sleepers have been around new people for a while, they relax and get normal.

  • Starfish sleep position:

The sleep position is named after starfishes who have their body parts outstretched. People who rest in this position have their arms stretched up near the pillow and legs unbent. Such people are good listeners and like to help others.

  • Log sleep position:

When a sleeper extends his arms and legs such that their body forms a straight line, it is called a log sleep position. People who prefer this posture for resting well are usually sociable and friendly. They can easily interact with others. While these traits make him an attractive personality, they increase the possibility that the person is gullible.

  • Freefall sleep position:

The position refers to one where the sleeper’s hands are on or around the pillow, and their head is turned to one side. It is believed that people who sleep in this position are social and borderline brash. Such individuals turn out to be sensitive and can be bad at handling criticism. In addition, these people become unsettled by extreme situations.

  • Yearner sleep position:

People sleeping in this position outstretch their legs and arms. Their hands are extended forward as if they are reaching for something. People who prefer to sleep in the yearner’s position are generally open and friendly, not as much as those who sleep in the log position.

  • Soldier sleep position:

In this position, your body looks attentive. Your legs are straight, and your hands lie along the sides like a soldier’s. Such people are found to be quiet and reserved. Also, they have high standards.

So, these are some common sleep positions that people prefer while resting. However, the traits associated with these sleep postures should not be taken too seriously as the research is still ongoing.
