Hypertension is one of the root cause of heart diseases that can be deadly at times. Hypertensive heart diseases can happen if our individual has high blood pressure for a long time period and doesn't control it. This hypertension and high blood pressure can cause extra strain to the heart which ultimately lead to heart failure and other health problems. High blood pressure can have many several possible causes which include genetics, obesity, over consumption of salt in the diet, arterial stenosis and also stiffening of the arteries along with the age. Sleep apnea can be a main factor which can contribute in high blood pressure along with this hypothyroidism and other endocrine abnormalities can lead to hypertensive heart diseases.

What are hypertensive heart diseases

Hypertensive heart diseases are the long term conditions that develop over many years in an individual who have high blood pressure. These are the group of medical problems related to heart like heart failure, heart attack, loss of heart rhythm which can happen if the blood pressure is not controlled or it reaches at high level.

High blood pressure pressure which is usually higher than 120/80 mmHg causes hypertensive heart diseases, along with the age there is an increase risk of heart diseases. The most common problem includes heart failure which occur in people older than 65 years of age.

Causes

Hi there pressure means depression inside the blood vessels is very high, as departments against the increased pressure it works harder over time and can cause thickening of heart muscles. S there are no offensive symptoms along with the high blood pressure symptoms most often does not occur even after many years of the poor blood pressure control and is seen when the damage to the heart has already been occurred. Eventually along with the high blood pressure comes in Angina, arrythmias which can lead to thickening of the heart muscles. Along with the muscles high blood pressure can lead to thickening of the blood vessels and increases the risk of stroke heart failure and heart attack.

Heart conditions caused due to hypertension

In general the problems that are caused and are associated with the high blood pressure generally relate to the vessels and muscles of the heart, common conditions which can be caused due to hypertension are-

  • Narrowing of arteries:- Coronary artery which supply the blood to the heart muscles can be clogged or can be narrowed when there is higher blood pressure or hypertension, when the high blood pressure leads to narrowing off the blood vessels the blood flow to the heart can slow down or it can stop this condition is known as coronary heart disease. Hard disease makes it very difficult for the heart to function and to supply blood to the rest of the organs which can put an individual at the risk of heart attack from the blood clot that gets stuck due to narrowing of arteries.
  • Thickening or enlargment of heart:- High blood pressure can make it very difficult for the heart to pump blood properly, like any other muscles in the body heart muscles can also taken and can enlarged due to irregular pressure of the blood. This can alter the way of heart functioning these changes can lead to irregular pumping of the heart which ultimately leads to hard block or heart attack.
Symptoms and Complications Because there is no such symptom with the high blood pressure There are many people who are unaware of the symptoms, some of the most common symptoms of hypertensive cardiovascular diseases pops up when the heart has already been damaged, symptoms include-
  • Chest pain
  • Palpitations
  • Dizziness
  • Fainting
  • Stroke
  • Shortness of breath
Complications

Heart failure - Heart failure means that the heart's pumping capacity is vico then the normal. This can lead to increased pressure in the heart which makes it more harder for the heart to deliver oxygen and nutritions to the body, symptoms include- shortness of breath, fatigue, nausea, irregular pulsation, swelling in ankles and abdomen, bloating.

Ischemic heart diseases - In this condition the heart muscle does not get enough blood which can result to arthroscolorosis or hardening of the arteries this can lead to blocked blood flow to the heart, symptoms include-irregular pulse, fatigue and weakness, nausea, sweating, chest pain, dizziness and shortness of breath.

Other complications include

  • Arrythmias- The irregular pumping pattern of the heart.
  • Heart attack
  • Certain cardiac arrest
  • Stroke
  • Atrial fibrillation
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Retinal disease
  • Cerebrovascular disease
