Customized Fields are so easy to build that however, the latest Salesforce User can do it. In order to get you began, we will do a walkthrough of the process of building a new "Member Level" field on Accounts to help better the Lightning interface.

Let us say a business handles Accounts through different membership levels each with certain benefits. There are 3 levels: Bronze, Metallic, and Gold. You would like to track this information in Salesforce because you want to see how many Accounts are in each membership degree and what kind of Accounts have been in each level. You have to start by building a new "Member Level" field.

Whenever you are building new fields you first pick the item you want to build the field on. You get around to putting together> Object Manager> Select Your own Object> Fields and Associations> Brand new.

Since each account you have can only belong to a certain membership convenience to Bronze, Metallic, or Gold, you will want to develop a Picklist field, which means you select Picklist otherwise your field type. Look at the table below to see all of the various field types which can be found in Salesforce!

Following, you enter the field details. Industry Designers are the name of the field that Users will see. Values are the options that Users will have to choose from when populating area:

Make use of a global picklist value set: The worldwide picklist value set is a set of picklist values that you can use across different objects.Get into values, with each value separated with a new line: By hand enter the ideals specified for just this picklist field. This is the option we will use.

The final step to creating a brand new field is identifying the field-level security. This is an important part of situation you only want certain Users to get access to this field.

Visible: Looking at the box allows Users to find the field on Account records.

Read-Only: Exploring the box helps prevent Users from being able to modify the field.

Within our case, we don’t want Customers with the Advertising Profile editing the Membership Level. All of us will give them Read-Only access.
