Every winter, usually around late January or early February, the seed and garden supply catalogs start to arrive in the mail. You look at the snow and ice outside of your window while thumbing through the pages, planning your spring garden. Then, finally, you decide on your order, place it, and anxiously await the mail order package to arrive.

Feelings of anticipation are replaced by those of exhilaration, as you tear open the box, sort through the seeds and bulbs you ordered, maybe even run to your garden, mentally thinking about the beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables that only a summer garden can bring.

After planting and fertilizing and waiting, you watch the seedlings, babying them, bringing them along, and awaiting the harvest. Then, one very sad morning, you go outside to monitor the makings of your future salad, and you see the horror: your garden has been wiped out by hungry deer. How dare they! At this point, there's really nothing you can do, the damage is done. But for the second planting, and future years, think Dear Fence Kits.

Deer Fence Kits are inexpensive, won't harm the offenders, and will save your garden. Many of these kits are available from any number of mail order companies, making them conveniently available to you without having to leave your home. Kits have all of the materials needed for installing a range of enclosures from the very basic to complex enclosures. Decide on the height and length you'll need, the material for the fence that you will need, and of course, your budget.

Many deer kits offer a menu of choices to include: rolls of fencing, posts and caps, stakes, plastic zip ties, flags, etc. All of the do it yourself kits are extremely easy to assemble and install. They are very effective at keeping out hungry deer, pesky rodents, and other unwanted visitors.

Additionally, deer kits have become increasingly popular with families who either have small children or live in areas which are close to small children. While they may not eat your prized vegetation, little ones can be a source of damage to your prized garden. Whether it be by simple unwanted foot traffic or by turning your garden area into a toddler-race-course with a tiny tricycle or other toddler riding toy, small children, without even thinking about it, can cause the same, if not more, damage that a deer can cause. For this reason alone, a deer fence kit can be a gardener's best friend.
