Changing waves of employee experience for HR and ITOne of the most significant changes in the workplace is the growing awareness in businesses of all sizes that employee experience (EX) is at least as critical as customer experience. While some forward thinking businesses have been prioritizing this for some time (e.g., Southwest Airlines), the focus is on enhancing the employee experience, which is now rapidly gaining momentum in businesses of all shapes and sizes.More and more organizations are creating or enhancing their employee experience programs, often from top-down, cross-functional initiatives rather than simply run by HR teams. For example, in a recent study by my company, 75% of HR leaders say that EX has become a comprehensive enterprise. Further, 65% of respondents said they would like to include their marketing team in EX as well. One of the most significant changes in the workplace is the growing awareness in businesses of all sizes that employee experience (EX) is at least as critical as customer experience. While some forward thinking businesses have been prioritizing this for some time (e.g., Southwest Airlines), the focus is on enhancing the employee experience, which is now rapidly gaining momentum in businesses of all shapes and sizes. While looking for marketing involvement in HR EX, the IT team also has to navigate the changes. While the task of making sudden changes to the hybrid from the office is already entrusted, the task of improving employee experience can quickly add new challenges for IT. IT departments must not only address the security and reliability challenges of large-scale migration to work from home, but they must also deliver IT services in a way that enhances the overall workforce experience. A huge wave to invade, indeed. In the early stages of moving to the hybrid model, of course, there was more focus on enabling employees to fully function. Security and scalability issues need to be addressed as quickly as possible with new tools for collaboration. Subsequent efforts have also improved efficiency, but as the reality of remote work emerges, businesses are turning to IT teams to improve overall experience. Therefore, a new, closer partnership must emerge between the traditional home of soft skills measurement - HR - and the provider of highly specialized technology solutions - IT. Marketing will also play a big role in employer brands, but the HR-IT relationship needs to be strengthened first.
