When someone chooses to perform boudoir photography, the first thing that comes to mind is what to wear... or, in this instance, what not to wear! The options are really limitless; what you wear to have these most private photographs taken is totally up to you, but here are a few ideas and methods we've learned while assisting females in selecting their clothing as boudoir photographers ourselves.

The Fundamentals

The first item you should carry is the simplest, which is your basic bra/underwear/lingerie. This doesn't imply you have to go out and purchase a lot of new things (although you can, and sometimes that is half the fun of a boudoir shoot).

A matching bra and underwear combination with a few accessories is a timeless classic style that virtually any woman can pull off. Add a sheer top to the mix for a different take on the style. Stockings and garters are also fantastic extras that add visual appeal and make a simple bra and underwear pair a bit more sensual.

Corsets, which are wonderful for curvy ladies who want to show off their breasts, are another lingerie must. Chemises and babydolls are also wonderful fundamental flattering pieces of lingerie for the photo. These are the typical sexual styles, with lace and frills and all the things males fantasize about, but you can also find pieces that are a little more exposing and sensual if you are fine with displaying a little more.

His Possessions

Clothing stolen from your significant other is another must-have for boudoir shoots. Anything that has meaning to him, whether it's a sports jersey, a button-down shirt, or some ties, will look great on you! Underwear with ties covering the top is a terrific appearance, depending on your degree of comfort.

Favorite sports team flags or blankets, a football or basketball covering you on top, or even a belt are all wonderful suggested naked appearances. Is your spouse a fireman, police officer, or soldier? If so, bring their belongings since it makes for fantastic boudoir shots.

Innovative concepts

Once those ideas are packed and ready to go, it's time to come up with some unique ideas related to you or his hobbies, or maybe simply going for a certain style. Different outfits with jeans are one of our faves. We've done jeans with a bra, unbuttoned jeans with a bra and underpants, and even simply jeans and scarves on top of females.

Jeans are a favorite of both men and women; they can be sensual, flattering, and fun, and are an essential element of any boudoir outfit. You may also create appearances based on your interests. If your guy enjoys video games, a pair of controllers, geek glasses, and a tight gaming t-shirt with high socks may be a wonderful outfit. Perhaps he enjoys racing, in which case a checkered flag or pit girl attire would be ideal.

Perhaps he collects comic books, in which case wrapping yourself in a few original editions would be ideal. The goal of these looks is to do something unique and distinctive for him and you. They don't have to be lingerie or very exposing, since a female can make anything appear beautiful with a little effort.

During boudoir photography, accessories are quite important. The first thing you need for every ensemble is a pair of heels that match. Heels enhance the appearance of your legs and are unquestionably beautiful.

Bring any jewelry he has purchased for you, as well as necklaces that complement your clothing and anything else you need to complete the appearance. Bring whatever your significant other possesses, such as video game controllers, caps, bats, boxing gloves, favorite clothing, and so on. A robe is also a good option to keep you modest and toasty while the photographers change setups or lighting.

These are just a few suggestions for what to bring to your boudoir session. What matters most is that you FEEL sexy in whatever you bring to the shoot. It's not about how much or how little you display, but about how you feel.

You will appear sexy as long as you feel sexy, and that is what we are looking for. Find ideas that you and your significant other will like, and give them some consideration since doing so will make your photos more original, sexier, and personal.
