Importance of testing after product launch
Posted: May 26, 2022
Computer technologies penetrate deeper and deeper into our daily life. The app monitors and reports everything around us, from mobile phones and gadgets to electronic devices. However, we see all kinds of viruses in our services: when information is corrupted, browsers or a completely empty page, we live a normal life.But not all viruses are equally dangerous—risk levels can vary from program to program.Sometimes companies do not conduct testing after the launch of the project, in the hope that the product will last a long time. In addition, the system fault clears automatically. However, the wonders of the world of technology are not an accident, but the painstaking work of specialists.
One of the most revealing cases occurred with the British Passport Agency. They are digitizing their passport processing systems with new Siemens computers and mobile phones. Not only were they tested after release, but the employees themselves could not use them.
These anonymous digital passports caused long queues in front of the agency, delays in issuing passports, and huge financial losses.
The company has released a mobile app, but that doesn't mean it's over. Some problems, errors and inconveniences appear from scratch. And the sooner the product is tested and all bugs are fixed, the sooner it will win the trust of users.The sooner the test cycle starts, the better.
Most experts agreed that the experiment should begin with the collection of system requirements. So far, everything depends on the type of development chosen (we will talk about it later). For example, in a waterfall model, the test is run at a given step. An iterative model can be tested in much the same way as new feature development.
In different parts of the software environment, testing is carried out in different ways:
- at the level of requirements definition: their evaluation and validation can be considered as experiments;
- management of the design process at the stage of system development is also experimental;
- as already mentioned, developers also participate in testing at the regional level of testing.
- So we can conclude this: during the outstaffing or outsourcing software development it is better to start testing at the requirements stage, accompany the product and test at each subsequent stage. The earlier in the product life cycle testing begins, the more we can be sure of its quality, which means that our users will be loyal and satisfied!
