Using a paddleboard is undoubtedly a fun experience, but you need to follow some proper precautions before going out to a river or sea. Inflatable paddle boards are generally much better than hard paddle boards because they can easily fit into a small space and you can pump the air in them whenever you want. But before trying it out directly, you need to check on a few things.

Being a beginner you need to choose a safe spot for your first adventure. It is advisable that you should choose a public place.

Secondly, you must have an experienced partner with you. While you start inflating the paddleboard, read the instructions carefully and crosscheck that you have set up the apparatus properly.

The other most important thing to check is the weather conditions and the direction. This is essential for your safety.

Now start inflating the paddleboard by inserting the pump hose into the valve. There is a red button with the pump, bring it to position and start pumping. Be very careful not to pump too much or you can damage your paddleboard.

The apparatus is now set up, you are ready for adventure.

How can you stand and move the paddleboard?

So, while you are in the water you can be nervous to stand up but following some proper tips can make the process easier for you. Begin with a kneeling position with your knees facing the bottom and slowly stand up by moving one foot at a time. Keep to the center of the board so that your weight is balanced. Once you stand up, you need to maintain this position so keep your feet apart in the same alignment as your shoulders.

To row the paddle board in a forward position, you need to understand how to move the paddle and the placement of your arms. First of all, you need to keep in a still position and place your hands with your torso while digging the paddle in the water. Move your hands as you are rowing through the water, make circles, and do not push the water. Move the paddle about five times at one side and then repeat at the other. Remember to row in a straight line and be very slow and relaxed throughout the process.
