Why does having good leadership matter? Leadership matters because it is about service and making sure others' lives improve. Great leadership can be found everywhere, but not all leaders need to be great - they just need to learn how to lead authentically. No one needs to be perfect or extraordinary to lead.

As per Ascension Leadership Academy life spring, there are many qualities of a leader we all could adopt so that together we can shape the future for generations to come. All you need is knowledge of what it takes to become an honest, humble leader i.e. an authentic leader.

What is authentic and ethical leadership?

Authentic leadership is something that shows through when you are honest and straightforward with yourself and others. When you're an authentic leader, people know what they can expect from you - honesty and transparency, among other things. And it's always genuine too! You can't fake authenticity; it has to come from somewhere deep inside of you for others to feel connected to it.

In general, terms, being a leader means doing what is right for everyone. Being an ethical leader means being aware of the standards put in place and holding oneself accountable to those values. It's important to remember that it's not only about you - but also about anyone else who may be impacted by your actions.

Traits of Authentic and Ethical leaders

  • Being an authentic leader means setting an example for others to follow.
  • Being an authentic leader means having a purpose for what you do and being genuine about it.
  • A leader who is authentic needs to show a sense of purpose to seem believable and approachable.
  • Authentic Leaders have a set of values they will never compromise, even when faced with the harshest opposition.
  • Authentic leaders make an effort to build connections with their employees and colleagues.

Scope of Authentic leadership

When we talk about the scope of being authentic, we are most often referring to a leadership style that revolves around honesty and integrity; which is why it is so important today because people are drawn to those leaders who embody these traits. As an example, if you're authentic when you hire employees, then your business will inevitably grow stronger. But even when speaking about something less tangible like the soul, there are still certain ways in which individuals can become more present or true to themselves- whether through meditation or practicing mindfulness regularly.

Authenticity is hard to find these days, even when you're looking for it. Sometimes people will pretend to be someone they are not just because they think that everyone else does too. Authentic leadership is about being honest with yourself and those around you - no matter what the outcome may be - because at the end of the day, at least you'll know who you are. And in today's economy where we need some moral integrity to keep up with everything else going on all around us, authentic leadership could come in clutch.

Conclusion

Ultimately, authenticity is an important leadership skill just like any other- and skills can always be developed or weakened over time, depending on what your intentions are. So to lead your team as well as they deserve, you must keep them constantly aware of how much you care about them by being honest with them all the time.
