Tips for writing Composition.

When it comes to writing a composition or an essay, most people are at a loss. They pause for a moment, then begin writing, writing, writing until they feel it is time to stop, at which point they stop. That is most likely the worst approach to writing a composition. If you expect to write good compositions that way, you must be gifted and experienced.

The first thing to keep in mind is that a composition is more than just a written text. It has to be put together.

Firstly you have to know the genre of the topic on what you are typing, you should already know the main things in your head and for that you must make an outline. An outline consists:

  1. Opening Sentence: topic + approach
  2. Ideas
  3. Details
  4. Closing Sentence

When you are done with writing the outline now you have to focus on writing which depends on four things:

  1. Write a Title
  2. Organize ideas into paragraphs
  3. Write the compositions
  4. Recheck and correct the compositions.

Opening Sentence (O.S)

The starting sentence in your composition will be the opening sentence. It's crucial because everything you say in your essay must be connected to the idea expressed in this sentence, and nothing can change, reject, or say something that isn't contained in this first sentence.

Consider a word or a group of words that will help you identify the topic. Consider a word or several words to describe the approach. The topic is the subject of your essay. Your approach is usually based on what you think about the topic, how you see it, or what you want to say about it. When you've decided on a topic and a strategy, write the first sentence using both concepts.

Ideas

Consider several ideas that stem from or connect to the first sentence (both the topic and the approach). Remember that none of these ideas can modify or contradict the opening sentence; they must explain, expand, support, or prove it. All of these ideas must express what you said in the first sentence, so don't discuss anything that isn't directly related. For instance, do not discuss a point (an idea) that is connected to another point in the composition but not directly to the first sentence

Details

Every point represents the beginning of a new paragraph (or section or chapter, if it is a long writing). Consider a few details to further explain each point.

Closing Sentence

The closing sentence is also crucial because it must bring your composition to a close, to the point where you can't say anything else. The closing sentence is the limit: If there is continuity rather than limitation, It would not be in the best interest. An open composition is a work in progress that is not complete.
