You and your family are ready for a summer vacation! The bags are packed, activities planned and room booked. As a parent you can’t wait for those rare few moments of vacation where nothing is on the schedule and you can finally relax…until the kids say they are bored.

Keep your free time by having these 5 family friendly games in your back pocket for fun entertainment! It is your summer vacation too, so enjoy the extra relaxation or play along with them!

  1. Left Right Center

Left Right Center is an easy to follow game that can be adapted to player ages. The only items you need are a few small custom game pieces so easy packing as well! This game is fun and face paced using dice and chips (or money!). Just follow the directions of the dice and the last person with chips at the end wins the game (or the whole money pot)!

  1. Charades

No room for packing board games in the minivan? No problem! Charades is the perfect game for playing with multiple players, indoors or outdoors, people of all ages and no special boards or cards needed. All you need to do is write down topics on paper, choose from the pile and start acting! See here for a fun list of charade ideas that are kid friendly.

  1. Scavenger Hunt

I love this game for younger kiddos because it keeps them entertained, learning and moving for longer. This game is great for vacation because you can adapt to your surroundings–perfect for hiking, the beach, city exploring and even the car. Write down a list of items you think might be found on your adventures and see how many can be checked off! For little ones, it’s easier if you do more color or shape focused.

  1. UNO

Easy to travel with, UNO is the classic and fun card game for multiple players! Name of the game is to be the first to get rid of all your cards, but hopefully you have the color cards needed or you have to pick up more. This game is perfect for those unexpected rain delays or late night fun with family and friends.

  1. Would You Rather

Would You Rather is a fun game for all ages and group sizes. Easy to play, you simply go around the room asking Would You Rather questions and discover their answer! You may be surprised what you learn about someone, especially with silly, serious and outrageous options. I’ve played this game waiting in line at amusement parks, in the car and relaxing in hotel lobbies!

These five family friendly games are great options to "bring" with you on your next vacation! By keeping it easy and fun, everyone will enjoy their time together whether you are going BIG on vacation or just having fun playing games together in a new place. Either way, the family vacation memories are in the making!
