India's Schedule After the IPL

The IPL is done and dusted and all eyes are now on the Indian cricket team once again. The biggest cricket spectacle saw Gujarat Titans win the IPL title, and now the attention turns to the Men in Blue.

India will face the Proteas on their return to the field in a home series which will see the interim captain KL Rahul lead the side. India faces off against South Africa in 5 T20 Internationals. Big stars including Rohit Sharma have been rested for the series before they make a comeback for their next tour which would be in the United Kingdom.

India will play 2 T20 Internationals against Ireland and will follow it up with the Tour of England in which they will play 1 Test, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20 Internationals. Once this tour concludes, the Men in Blue will travel to the West Indies.

The BCCI confirmed the schedule for the Caribbean Tour and informed that the Indian team will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20 Internationals against the Caribbeans. The tour against the West Indian side is slated to be played in July-August and once this tour concludes, the Indian side will be traveling to Sri Lanka to play in the Asia Cup 2022.

The Asia Cup will be played in August and September followed by the T20 World Cup 2022, which will be held in Australia in October-November. The Indian side has plenty of matches to practice for the T20 World Cup 2022 and will look to make the most of the opportunities.

Later during the year, the Men in Blue will face off against Australia in India and will be playing 3 T20 Internationals and 4 Tests. Once that series concludes, the Indians will travel to Bangladesh for 2 Tests and 3 ODIs. The Indian side will welcome the Sri Lankans to conclude the year with an ODI series.

The dates for only the South Africa Series, UK Tour, and the T20 World Cup 2022 have been officially announced and the rest of the dates for the various Yours will be officially announced later.

While all the Tours and matches are important, there are notably two huge Tournaments that the Team will be a part of. These are the T20 World Cup 2022, and the Asia Cup 2022. The Men in Blue will be looking to win all the series' along with the T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup.

The Indian Team won the inaugural T20 World Cup held way back in 2007 and won a thriller against arch-rivals Pakistan in Johannesburg, South Africa. The team was then led by the most cherished and loved captain of India in the form of M.S. Dhoni.

Talking about the Asia Cup, India has been the most successful team in the tournament and has won the title 7 times. The team has won the previous two editions and has largely dominated in the Asia Cup. This year's Asia Cup will be in a T20 format and will be held in Sri Lanka.

It would be interesting to see how India fares in all the tournaments and series, both at home and away!
