You must ensure eating foods that cool your body and give you relief from excessive heat. It is very important to eat water-rich food which helps you keep hydrated and healthy. However, thanks to Ayurveda that practices the science of natural health and has a lot to offer.

Important ayurvedic tips on how to stay healthy during summers:

Keep yourself hydrated

In Summers, keeping yourself hydrated is most important. It is recommended to consume more alkaline foods to fight the heat in the body. Drink plenty of water which will help you to keep your body cool. To stay yourself healthy, drink alkaline water, juices and coconut water. Avoid icy drinks directly coming from the Sun. Drink room temperature water. Always carry water bottle along with you when you are outside.

Avoid spicy and oily food

Don’t eat the foods that are heavy to digest and heat you up. Include green and leafy vegetables in your daily diet. Eat water-rich food and salad as much as possible. Keep away yourself from junk, oily and spicy food. Reduce intake of garlic, chili, tomato, sour cream and salted cheese to avoid hampering your system.

Practice yoga every day

If you practice yoga daily in the morning for at least 1 hour, you will be able to keep yourself away from various diseases. Yoga creates the balance between your mind, body and soul. It corrects the alignment of your whole body. Some of the most effective yogas you can try like Anulom Vilom, Shitali Pranayama, Ujjayi Pranayama and Kapalabhati Pranayama. It cools the body and helps nerves and muscles to relax.

Eat at the right time

Always eat when your digestive fire is at its strongest, which is during lunch. Skipping your lunch during summers is equal to upsetting your pitta dosha that further makes you feel irritated and cranky.
