Employee State Insurance is managed by the Employee State Insurance Corporation, a legally mandated autonomous body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment of the Government of India.
This scheme has been launched for Indian workers/employees. The ESI Corporation provides a wide range of medical, monetary, and other benefits to its employees. Any establishment with more than 10 employees (in some states, 20 employees) earning a maximum salary of Rs. 21,000/- (twenty one thousand only) is required to register with the ESIC.
It provides financial assistance to compensate for the employee's wage loss while absent due to illness, maternity, or other employment injury. This plan also covers his or her medical expenses.
