Boxed packaging is a widely used form of packaging. It is the packaging form of the product obtained after the packaged items are loaded into the packaging box as required and the corresponding packaging and sealing operations are implemented. Packaging operations can be done by hand and other appliances, or by automated packing and cartoning machines. In modern commodity production, the boxed packaging work of the cartoning machines is mainly done by an automatic cartoning machine. The packing and packaging work involves three aspects: the items to be packed, the packaging box and the automatic cartoning machines, and the three are connected by the packaging process.

Selection of cartons
There are many factors involved in the selection of packaging containers. In terms of the structure of the box, there are the following points. 1. When goods are easy to put in or out of the narrow section of the box, such as toothpaste. Medicine bottles, etc., can be packed in cylindrical boxes, and the cover piece is inserted for sealing, which is more convenient; if the product is heavier or has sealing requirements, the cover piece bonding and sealing method should be used; if the product is dispersed particles or individuals, it is easy to leak due to the loosening of the cover piece, such as soap flakes, pushpins, etc., the flap and cover piece should be buckle-type structure. 2. When the goods are not easy to put in or out from the narrow side of the box, such as pastries, clothing, arts and crafts, etc., shallow tray boxes should be used. 3. In order to promote products or facilitate customers to understand products, such as toothbrushes, jewelry, cakes, etc., boxes with transparent windows should be used.
Selection of Cartoning Machines
- Manual packing method, the simplest packing method is manual packing, no other equipment is required. The main disadvantages are slow speed, low labor and production efficiency, and commodities with high sanitary conditions for food and medicine bottles are easy to pollute. It is only applicable if economic conditions are poor and cheap labor is available.
- The method of semi-automatic cartoning machines, the operator cooperates with the cartoning machines to complete the packing process. The product is loaded into the box by hand. The rest of the process, such as taking the box blank, printing, opening, back cover, capping, etc., is completed by the machine. Some commodities, such as medicines and chemicals, need to be packed into the manual when packing, and they also need to be put in by hand. The mechanism of the semi-automatic cartoning machines is relatively simple. The type and size of the packing can be changed. The time required to adjust the machine when changing the variety is short. It is very suitable for packing multi-variety and small-batch products, and it is easy to move. It can be easily moved from one production line to another production line. Some semi-automatic cartoning machines are used to hold a set of products, such as sachets of tea, coffee, soups and condiments. Each box can hold 1~50 packs. The packing speed is in line with the bag-making filling machine. Relatively speaking, each box takes a long time to pack. Therefore, the machine operates in a gap indexing mode, which automatically puts the sachets of products into the box and counts them, and automatically indexes them after they are filled; the process of placing empty boxes, removing full boxes, and sealing boxes is carried out by the operators. Semi-automatic cartoning machines, since most of the products are packed by hand, the packing method is mostly vertical, which is easy to fill.

The production efficiency of the fully automatic cartoning machine is high, but the internal structure of the machine is complex, the technical requirements for operation and maintenance are high, and the equipment investment is also large. Therefore, it is suitable for packing large-scale products of a single variety, such as toothpaste, soap, tablets, etc. In the process of fully automatic packing, the product is automatically loaded into the box by the machine, so the horizontal packing method is generally used, that is, the direction in which the product is pushed in is perpendicular to the direction of movement of the box blank conveyor belt, then place the guide plate at the appropriate position above the product conveyor belt, and gradually turn the product to a horizontal position before packing. For products that are packed into boxes, most of them are also packed horizontally. It is appropriate.
4. Selection of packing equipment
The packing method of the automatic cartoning machine should be determined according to the packing method, and the production capacity and degree of automation of the cartoning machine should be based on the product production batch. The production efficiency and the degree of flatness of variety transformation are determined. First of all, it must be matched with the production efficiency of the product production equipment. The higher the degree of automation, the better, but it must be appropriate, not only to meet the technical level of the operation and maintenance personnel, but also to achieve the best economic benefits.
