Concrete cutting Sydney - Choosing the Best Anchor Fixing Services
Posted: Dec 06, 2014
Concrete anchoring sometimes can be very hard to perform. Depending from the surface it can be applied mechanically or chemically. Certified anchor specialists can help you to identify the appropriate method for anchor fixing, offering a solution to every surface or project. Technically, most important is to use the correct anchor fixing services, even more important from the same installation. On the other hand, improper or poor installation can result in failure of the entire platform. Every contractor is responsible for choosing the anchoring system accordingly to their specifications, because the previously selected anchoring system will have a certain effect to the concrete itself. Once we have drilled the holes, your opportunity to correct any mistakes has been lost.
Basically, we distinguish two types of anchor drilling services: mechanical and adhesive anchoring. Mechanical anchors are about screwing into the object at the tip. On the other hand, adhesive anchors services are about creating a hole by drilling, cleaning and filling with cement, so the anchor can be inserted.
A mechanical anchor in general is not so hard to install and uninstall. Consequently, this type of anchoring should be applied only with durable, strong concrete. If the concrete is not sustainable the anchor will not be applied correctly and won't be used to its' full potential. Thus, all the weight and pressure is focused at the tip of the anchor it may result with cracks in the surface, especially with thinner concrete. You must ensure that the dimension of the hole is no larger than the anchor itself, or it will not be appropriate to the place. Most importantly, never try to drill the anchor into any air or powder pockets as this will consequently create huge holes, greater than the anchor itself. If the hole is very big you don’t have any other choice than to create a new hole closely. Another possible solution when using mechanical anchors if you want to prevent holes and cracks is to stay away from the edges. While mechanical anchors are much easier to install they are also easily affected by rust.
Adhesive anchors are more durable, but technically harder to install. Also the process is more expensive. Otherwise, you don't have to explore the strength of your surface when using adhesive anchors as they are applicable to low strength materials. In aim to install this type of anchor firstly you need to drill a hole. Once the hole is prepared you will fill it with your adhesive material. At this stage it is very significant that you clean the hole from dust, otherwise the dirt may cause problems by reducing the effectiveness of the adhesive. This process is much more secure and affordable, thus the adhesive allows more weight to be allocated throughout the entire surface instead of placing it all at one tip. Although it is more costly to perform, adhesive anchors are more durable in practice under high temperatures, reducing the cracks to the surface.
Two Method Approaches - If you have enough time and money it’s best to apply both, mechanical and adhesive anchoring to the remaining surface.
