Self-regulation is the ability to have substantial control over your actions and yourself. For leaders, not lashing out, or forming stereotypes/assumptions, is vital for nurturing relationships and making good decisions.

Self-regulation is about being calm and collected while also being accountable and aware of your role. Leaders cannot instigate blame games and must demonstrate precise control over how they handle situations.

This is especially important when companies face challenges and require leaders who are focused not on arguments but on solutions.

Motivation

Leadership requires self-motivation and a desire to work hard. Being transparent and motivated about your purpose will allow others to understand it and decide if they wish to follow you.

Empathy

Empathy means being able and able to understand others and relate to their challenges, struggles, and situations. Leaders can better understand their teams and feel what they are feeling, which will likely impact their ability to get the best out of them.

Social skills

Many businesses have a very social structure. Being a good communicator is a great asset.
