Are you sure RuneScape worth it to play in 2022

The company has registered two trademarks in the UK and in RuneScape Gold the US, one for "OSRS Gold" and one with the title "RS Gold" and noting that it has registered the use of the phrases as words. This is likely to stop third-party websites from having the ability to promote their sale of RS Gold.
A cursory Google search of either term brings up hundreds of websites, some of which have one of the terms in their URLs. They offer the currency of RuneScape in exchange for real money. The announcement came on Wednesday, October 13, that Jagex announced that it was ending in "real-world trading". In a post to their website "The RuneScape Team" stated that "gold that is purchased via RWT transactions in the real world is an issue in every online game that has a trading currency."
Jagex says it will have to send "messages to those we've identified as engaging within"RWT" within "the coming hours". "For those who were involved, we'd like to be clear that this is your sole und only caution," it added.
In addition, the announcement was it was going to be a PvP modes, Duel Arena, would see sweeping changes that included the tighter enforcement of the game's rules of conduct in order to encourage positive playing. Jagex affirms that the feature "has been a catalyst that has led to the toxic behavior".

It's true, RuneScape is still as popular as ever, with more than 100,000 players online at peak times during the time of the day. More than 2.5 million accounts are registered during the last 20 years although many may be no longer active, a huge proportion of them are in operation.
Before that, however what the publisher calls "short-term measures" will be implemented "until our development teams can provide a major update that fully replaces Duel Arena next year."
RuneScape hasn't been around for more than twenty years because it's just an average game that does not have any commitments over the long run. As an MMORPG it's part of an industry that seems to always be on the brink of demise despite the popularity of Cheap RS Gold a select few games.
