Football News Today: FIFA calls off the Brazil-Argentina World Cup qualifying match.

Brazil and Argentina's World Cup qualifying match that was put on hold will not take place, the national soccer associations of both nations said after reaching an agreement with FIFA to call off the match.

Both teams agreed to pay a punishment for skipping the qualification, which was called off shortly after last September because four Argentina players had violated COVID-19 standards, according to Brazilian health officials who entered the field. Even though it had been made worthless by Brazil and Argentina's qualification for the World Cup in Qatar despite playing one fewer game than other South American nations, FIFA nevertheless wanted the match to take place next month.

FIFA initially punished both nations' national soccer associations and ordered the game to be played. The dispute was brought to the Court for Arbitration of Sport by the federations of Brazil and Argentina. All three parties accepted the decision to call off the match.

Before the tournament in Qatar, Brazil coach Tite and his Argentina counterpart Lionel Scaloni had claimed that the likelihood of injuries and suspensions was too great for the game to be played. Both teams can now plan September friendlies against various opponents due to the ruling.

Brazil is a member of Group G in Qatar, together with Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon. Along with Mexico, Poland, and Saudi Arabia, Argentina is in Group C.

In their Durand Cup debut on Wednesday, Odisha FC destroyed NorthEast United FC 6-0 thanks to a first-half brace from Jerry Mawihmingthanga. Jerry scored the game's first goal in the 15th minute with a skillful finish to a well-planned team effort.

Goalkeeper Lalthuammawia Ralte joined the action eleven minutes later with a precise throw-out across the field that found Nandhakumar Sekar on the left. Before putting a beautiful shot in the top corner, the Salem-based player used some cunning to eliminate two defenders. Jerry scored again in the 37th second, capping a Raynier, Pedro, and Nadha play that ended the game.

Josep Gombau's team delivered a last sparkle in the second half to finish the rout in what ultimately proved to be a clinical effort, when Gombau used his substitutes, all three scored goals.

In the 81st minute, Isak scored with a spectacular header from a Nandha corner, and two minutes later, Diego Mauricio scored with a stunning free-kick.

In the 90th second of the game, Thoiba Singh chipped in to give the northeastern team's day the boot.

The entire team is a little anxious before the T20 World Cup: Mr. Rishabh Pant.

After being eliminated from the previous ICC T20 World Cup in the group stage, India's swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant stated on Wednesday that the team is "somewhat worried" as it gets ready for the current tournament.

In October or November, Australia will host the finale. The entire team is a little anxious because the World Cup is so close, but we also love to give our all and concentrate on our process as a team. The only thing we can do is that Pant said outside of an event hosted by Visit Victoria, the state's tourism bureau.

India hasn't won an ICC competition since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013. Therefore the team is eager to end the winless streak this time. Hopefully, we'll make it to the championship game and perform well for the club, stated Pant.

"As members of the Indian team, we sincerely appreciate the support of as many Australians as possible. For us, every cheer counts. It gives us hope that we can prevail. Less than two years after playing a significant part in the Indian Test team's historic victory in the 2020–21 series there, Pant will be full of confidence Down Under.

"So far in my cricket career, it's one of my favorite moments. I'm happy I could aid my squad in crossing. Pant remembered his two excellent performances in the final two Tests of the four-match series, saying, "I'm delighted that I could assist my side over the line that day and have that fantastic Test match and series triumph.

The renowned Melbourne Cricket Ground, which will host the eagerly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match in the T20 World Cup, was also lauded by Pant. "I think playing at the MCG is a wonderful experience because it's one of the most recognizable cricket stadiums in the world. The Indian crowd, in particular, is fantastic for us," he stated.

Despite my 2-month absence, my team hasn't forgotten my work over the past 2-years: KL Rahul.

K L Rahul has suffered from numerous injuries. Still, as he prepared to captain India in one more series, he expressed his gratitude to the team management for remembering his contributions over the previous two years while he was away for the last two months.

"Even though you've been out for two months, the team and the country still appreciate what you've done for them over the past two to three years," On the eve of the first ODI against Zimbabwe, the Indian captain claimed that players "really thrive in such an environment.

He believes that the management of the Indian team has successfully established a setting that can help a player go from being an excellent player to a great one.

Rahul, who after 42 games has a superb average of 46 plus and five hundred, remarked that this type of setting might assist a player in converting from being a decent player to a great player and playing a lot more match-winning innings for his team.

"Getting the support of the selectors, coach, and the captain is crucial for a player.

Knowing that you can focus on what must be done with a clear head makes you feel much more self-assured. It becomes clear to players that you have a solid support system," the slick right-hander said.

Rahul has experienced a variety of illnesses; the most recent one necessitated surgery for a sports hernia. "Injuries and illnesses are part of the sport, and that aspect has not been kind to me," Rahul concluded. But it's part of the trip, and you must accept both the good and the bad." After being declared out before the commencement of the T20I home series against South Africa in June, he was absent from the national team dressing room for a while.

After being away for two months, returning to the dressing room was terrific, joining in on the conversation and laughs. Never attempted to act other than who I am.

Originality is crucial, and Rahul thinks that throughout his brief leadership, he has made an effort to be authentic while letting the other team members maintain their distinctive voices. "I can't act differently in public. If I do, I won't be truthful with myself, my team, or the game. When asked if he sought to emulate the great MS Dhoni, Rahul responded, "I try and be myself and let the other players be themselves as they wish."

Rohit Sharma On Building Bench Strength: "Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami Will Not Be with Indian Team Forever"

You must attempt to get the other people ready because (Jasprit) Bumrah, (Mohammed) Shami, and all these guys won't be on the Indian squad indefinitely. The Indian Express reported that Sharma and Rahul (Dravid) "discussed how we are going to establish our bench strength because it's going to be very crucial considering the amount of cricket we play, considering the injury factors and everything."

We never want to be a team dependent on just one or two players; instead, we want to be a group where everyone can contribute and work together to achieve success. We want to give the young players as many opportunities as possible because we want to be that kind of group. Of course, they are surrounded by more experienced players. They could be a great assistance.
