Tips to choose your interior design style without hassle
Posted: Sep 05, 2022
Do you feel overwhelmed by all the design styles and trends available? Do you have lots of ideas for your design style but don’t know where to start? If so, then you might be a victim of indecision. Any one of the questions above could be answered with a yes; I know from experience. However, I’ve found that choosing a home decorating style makes everything much simpler.
It's vital to find your decorating style before spending money on your spaces. Doing this is a gradual process, but it's worth the time to discover what you like.
By understanding your style and how it relates to your personality, you can confidently choose decor for your home. This saves time and money since you won't purchase anything that doesn't look right in your home once you get it.
Taking quizzes about home decor styles and learning about personality types is one of my favorite pastimes. Not only is this fun for me, but it also helps me understand myself and others better. This understanding can be applied to all aspects of life, including the styles of decor people prefer to use.
Taking design inspiration from your closet allows you to choose a style easily, especially if you have the option to choose the rug first. When choosing a style, notice which colors, fabrics and patterns you consistently wear.
Use inspiration to help you decide on a personal decorating style.
Inspiration can be gathered from many different sources such as HouseOfMoroccanRugs.com, including film, music, nature, hotels, restaurants, art galleries and museums. You can also browse through magazines and books related to interior design.
You can learn a lot about yourself by observing what you save on Pinterest and Instagram. Look for commonalities in the things you save— a color scheme, theme or trend — to get a better idea of what you like.
Whenever I go out, I take my folder or mood board with me. This helps me stay consistent with my design style and avoid purchasing numerous cheap items from discount stores.
It’s helpful to have inspiration photos on your phone or computer when shopping online. This way, you can refer to specific color schemes, pieces of furniture, rugs, or artwork to match them.
Creating a unique design and style for yourself is a gradual process that can be achieved through living life. For me, this process arises naturally as I go about my daily life. I then use this style when dressing, decorating my home and living.
I choose things that look beautiful, feel good and make me feel the way I want to feel.
When choosing a home style, make sure to choose something that makes you happy. Additionally, when choosing any style, don’t let anyone change your mind.
