The Current Affairs section covers various sections, news and events which are of interest to the general Public. Current Affairs is a highly prestigious section because there are so many issues that we see every day, and many of these events have a major impact on how our society functions. Current Affairs is also a highly competitive section because it’s difficult to keep track of all the news that comes out every day.

The current affairs in IAS coaching have been a hot topic of discussion since the year 2013. The current scenario is that the IAS coaching industry has seen an unprecedented growth in recent years.

The Current Affairs section is one of the most important sections in any IBPS PO exam. There are three different types of questions that can be asked in this section:

  • Current affairs specific passages (which may or may not have questions attached to them)
  • Events and issues related to current affairs (this is where candidates will be given a question)
  • Thematic essays on current affairs (this is where candidates will be given a topic and will have to write an essay on it).

The Current Affairs section has a high weightage in IBPS PO exams. Candidates need to ensure that they are well-versed with all the current affairs related topics, as well as being able to answer questions based on them. They must also be able to write coherently about any topic assigned to them in this section. The Current Affairs section has a high weightage in IBPS PO exams. The Importance of In-depth Policy Reporting

Current affairs reporting is important, as it enables people to stay abreast of current events and to make informed decisions. However, much of the media coverage that consumers receive focuses on superficial issues rather than on the more important policy issues that affect their lives. This is an issue; as overly-sensationalized news stories can leave readers with misconceptions about the issues being discussed. In addition, the proliferation of fake news on social media can cause members of the public to form false beliefs about important issues such as vaccination and climate change.

Fake news has become an increasingly prevalent issue, with governments around the world attempting to control the narrative in their country by restricting the spread of in accurate information.

In some cases, governments have attempted to control the narrative through the use of fake social media posts, intended to suppress negative news about the government and spread positive messages.

  • Social media platforms are increasingly being targeted by foreign governments in an effort to shape the public perception of their countries' leaders. For example, Russia and China have publicly denounced Facebook for removing posts by opposition leaders.
  • A growing number of Americans look to social media and other online sources for political news, increasing their exposure to disinformation and propagandistic content of both foreign and domestic origin. The larger platforms have struggled to control false or hateful material without harming freedom of expression or their own business interests, though they have announced multiple mass removals of accounts linked to Russia, Iran, and China that were being used to spread disinformation.
