Office Space: Some Questions to Ask

1. What is the nature of my company?The nature of your business is the first question you and your team should ask. Your office space should be in line with the long-term goals of your firm, what you do, and who your clientele are.
The nature of your business will help you determine whether proximity to suppliers, competitors, or other establishments is necessary. It will also assist you in determining which facilities you should prioritise, such as a spacious reception area for offices that have clients coming in and out frequently, a private, quiet room where your employees can rest and relax between working hours, or even a media theatre where large presentations and conferences can be held.
2. Where is my current office located?There's a reason you're looking for a new office space, and chances are, your existing location, infrastructure, design, size, and pricing needs aren't being met.
Examine your current office to see what you want and don't want in your future office space.
3. What am I willing to spend? Determine whether you want to scale up and buy a bigger and nicer office, or whether you want to downsize and save money. Before selecting your new office location, make sure you understand your company's culture. Your workplace is where your employees spend the majority of their time, and it represents your company's beliefs and culture. When clients and potential employees visit your workplace, they can assess the success of your company.
7. Is the building code in order?Check that the building complies with laws when considering a potential office space. Is there a wheelchair ramp or a fire exit in the building?
Many buildings have been forced to close their doors owing to noncompliance with regulatory norms and regulations. Avoid potential issues by ensuring that your new office space complies with all government legislation and policies.
8. How safe is the lease and the rental rate?Rental rates might increase year after year as the worth of properties is appraised. You don't want to be forced to renew your lease because your landlord decided to raise the rates.
It's also a good idea to include a stipulation in your lease that limits any increase to no more than 5%.
